The pitches in this series are typical 'home advantage' kind of pitches, they were favouring India. They spun a fair bit giving spinners enough to purchase wickets, and were decent surfaces to bat on. For these pitches, Indian spin bowling is superior to England's and batting also better than England's. Rank turners would actually have been a bit of a lottery and given England a slightly better chance to win a few tests. The same way pitches with extreme swing would actually give India a better chance against England and South Africa when we tour them.

 

When we talk about fair pitches, it's not being fair for the opposition, but between bat and ball. Good batsmen should be able to score runs and good bowlers should be able to get wickets, and the pitches in this series provided exactly that. This series being played in India, obviously the team which can bowl spin better and can play spin better would have the advantage. In England for example the team which can bowl swing better and can play swing better would have the advantage. That is called home advantage and preparing pitches for the same, not taking one of the skills (batting or bowling) out of the equation.

 

And England providing unfair pitches to India when they toured there the last time, is absolute BS. The pitches were fine, as they are in this series. Just that the home team on both occasions had better skills than the opposition for their own pitches.

India was simply awful in that series, nothing to do with the pitches. England were consistently scoring 400+ and India consistently getting bundled out for less than 200. If pitches were extreme, England wouldn't be able to score 400+ and 500+ scores. Like in couple of "rank turners" we provided when Saffers toured us, India struggled to post 250+ themselves.

 

PS: We are annihilating and embarrassing England. We are dominating them, beating them fair and square on good cricket pitches even after they've won 3 out of 4 tosses.

Not to pile on the local frog-eating vegetarian here.  But this is the kind of cricket and these are the kinds of wins that are so much more fun to watch, than one-sided wins where everything goes one team's way - toss, conditions etc.  

 

England arguably fought hard and competed the best so far in his home stretch - at least until D5 at Chennai.  The fact that they won the tosses, played on relatively flat pitches, and the Indian team still managed to pound them 4-0 makes it way more enjoyable and meaningful.  Let's hope @maniac learns something from this series.  Its gonna take a lot to fill that empty vessel
