Shami had more catches dropped and far easier ones and yet averaged 25 in the series .So yeah even if 3-4 catches dropped I would still expect far more from our bowlers . Definitely not 5 wickets in 8 innings

Umesh couldn't't even use the new ball properly through out the series .

I am not certain if more catches were dropped of shami, few were but Umesh had lots. In any case Shami is a better bowler.

This is an assumption that Umesh brings a lot on helpful wickets just by speed gun showin some big number when he bowls.

Umesh actually does not bring much. He has the tools which he actually does not have the ability to use on regular basis.

Bowling one good short bouncer to unsettle the batsman and follow that up with another short ball, but down the leg side, will not scare any batsman, not even a tailender.  It hasn't scared any batsman on international circuit yet in his all this time he has spent.

With Bhuvi you get accuracy and that is going to get you wickets. Bhuvi, the more you will play him, the more overs he bowl, the more consistent he will get at that level.

Bhuvi brings absolutely nothing on pitches that doesn't suit him. He may get an odd wicket here and there early in a morning, but as the day progresses he'll be the last bowler to have in a captain's mind. Atleast with Yadav he asks batsmen questions whenever he get a chance to bowl, and the poor guy's been bowling on lifeless pitches all his career.  Of course his stats will look bad.

Accuracy alone is not going to get you wickets, you either have to swing the ball or should have a considerable pace. Swing is mostly a non-entity factor on flat tracks and that leaves Bhuvi a no better bowler than Kohli.

Bhuvneshar's accuracy at that pace isn't bad. He is using lot of wrist movment these days and trying many things and he might be working on off cutters and leg cutters. At Bhuvi's pace, he can trouble the batsmen a lot even with accuracy.

He is not as slow as it is made out to be. He is still pretty quick.

Umesh meanwhile if can reduce 5-10 miles and can be more accurate, he can probably come close to being Bhuvi.

I am happy with Bhuvneshwar. And you will be soon too.

rightly so bhuv may be a good chocolate boy, but we need phast bowlers. phast.

Bhuvi can be our Shaun Pollocl or better.

Pollock wasn't 150 kind of bowler. He used to bowl in 130s and had little movement to trouble the bats. Even the greats like Tendulkar got troubled with 130ish pace, good line and length bowling.

This is what Bhuvi can do and Umesh can not.

Bhuvi's fate is already sealed for the next match ie. carrying drinks. Chennai will assist spinners and one fast bowler is enough. I don't see Kohli dropping Yadav for a trundler.

You cannot compare Pollock to Bhuvi because Pollock was a tall bowler who could get the extra bounce too because of his height and high arm action. I think Bk is like a right handed Vaas. Both skillful at moving the ball around.

Not comparing as Bhuvi has done nothing of sort like him in test yet but he does have the accuracy and and line to bowl, similar like Pollock.

Btw, Pollock bowled well in places like India and different parts of the world which had less bounce. His home average is very close to his away average. It wasn't just about his height which used to help him. He was able to keep it simple line which got him wickets in places like subcontinent. Similarly, Bhuvi can do that for India at home too.
