I think green top will be a lottery, India do have guys who can play on green tops and score big runs on the other hand, it makes guys like kumar and Sharma lethal.

That's the thing - they can't roll out green mambas - because we now have enough pace bowling fire power to compete on those.  If anything, that improves our chances.  Our challenge is the flat roads where our seamers are not able to extract enough out of conditions and get worked into the ground, while the home seamers usually find a way to execute better.

even if they dont roll out green mambas, most of those pitches won't help spinners, like last England and NZ tour. You need an extra seamer to support 3 frontline seamers because spinners become redundant. Why couldn't we win those tests in SA and NZ because we lacked that 4th seamer option and spinners Ashwin and Jadeja didnt do anything even on a 5th day pitch. When only 3 seamers has to do bulk of the bowling 25-30 overs in an innings, they lose their sharpness and effectiveness and with spinners getting redundant and not bowling enough overs, we missed that 4th seamer on every overseas tour. I remember in NZ ODIs, Ahsiwn had picked up just 1 wicket in 4 games averaging 219. We kept getting early wickets in that series but in  middle overs captain cool will start bowling Raina, Jaddu, Ashwin as soon as 10 over PP got over and likes of Willamson and Ross Taylor made merry on their harmless bowling and if you dont get wickets in middle overs, you cannot stop opposition from scoring 300 plus.

Ashwin. Any day 24/7 365 days of week, Ashwin is 10 ten times better than Jadeja.  The guy is fastest to reach 250 in the history of cricket.

 

We Indians have a memory of a gold fish. Just because Jadeja did better in the last innings, Jadeja is better.
