Rahul Chahar - Terrific prospect for future

We came across this kid in recent u-19 asia cup. 

Saw some of his videos and i have to say he looks a really exciting prospect and looks like he can bat well to, he takes pride in his batting to.

A leg spinner who can bat well , kind of a playerf who cud be a serious asset in future. 

Bowling- gets good bounce and good amount of turn, also looks quick through the air. Below are some gems he bowled on a pitch with green grass.

Batting- Looks to have a solid base while batting. How important is base while batting is something Viv pointed out with rahul n kohli on Wi tour

 

Rajasthan state looks to have one the best domestic bowling attack with his addition- Pankaj, nathu, Aniket, deepak, and now Rahul Chahar

The videos of his bowling look impressive, but hard to draw a conclusion with one off videos. Those could be the best ball he bowled in the match and the others were not very impressive. Hope he gets to play a full Ranji season.

Could be, but even if these are only 1-2 balls a match its shows his talent. He'll only get better with time. Spinners take time to mature and atleast indian domestic structure is good for spinners. Needs to play 2-3 season of domestic and if performs shud be A-tours

Yes hopefully he can have a consistent Ranji and A-tours. Hard to figure out with one off deliveries. Good deliveries they are.

Is it me or does he have a warne-esque loop? He certainly is a prospect for us. I like his aggressive batting style also.

Bowling looks great. Needs to work on more control and googly. Somehow feel he's operating at the right pace for a leg spinner. Not too fast and importantly not too slow like Mishra giving the batsmen enough time to adjust.. I'd be really interested to watch him play a county season or two instead of Ranji..

Action is poor.The bowling arm is very striaght it should come from 10 o clock position for maximum side spin like Warne.We need a bowler who can impart a lot of side spin on the ball.Only such a bowler will succeed in overseas conditions.

He seem to be getting good spin. What worked for warne might not work for him. Every one is different . Once you go to warne style he might loose accuracy.

Good observation on the angle. But even without that, he seems to be getting appreciable amount of spin at a good pace, which is very important for a legspinner.

He seem to be getting good spin. What worked for warne might not work for him. Every one is different . Once you go to warne style he might loose accuracy.

These were BD pitches so Spin is expected.Also most of the turn was from off stump or outside hardly any in drift.

The arm angle of Warne was ideal thats why he could impart so much side spin and body behind his deliveries.The leg spinners arm angle must not be too striaght while that of an off spinner has to be striaght thats how they get their body position and body pivot going in the right direction.

He is D Chahars younger brother, has come thru the ranks, also bowls fastish n turns a good combo n surprising thing is even though he is fast for a leggie he gets good turn n flight, so if or u less he grows a lot taller he can bowl the same way, n turn, flight at 90 kph is pretty good with that approach n accuracy, yes his arm is a bit straightish but still he gets good turn at fast pace n has a quick arm .

Yup agree on that, also agree on googly as well, but one must not forget warne had a very good variety of slider, toppy and zooter as well, abroad(outside Asia )spin bowlers needs to do containment job, but these variety opens up wicket taking option as well, ,u see that's why mushy and Kumble has won matches abroad same with Qadir that they used the other variety in between apart from legspin at a fastish pace.
