Unless you are too young to watch that match,the Jadeja blitzkrieg should definitely among our greatest heroic knocks.The sheer audacity of it against one the best death bowlers ever  ,pressure and the occasion.It was staggering on every count.Not a single person would have seen that coming.

waqar's SR was scary... '96 WC is the first cricket series i watched with seriousness...

jadeja's innings was indeed very special... but for some reason it did not flash in my mind when i wrote my OP until you brought it up

I still have a soft spot for the lankan heroes jayasurya, desilva, murali because it was my first series and i wasnt very parochial at that time :D

Yeah that was great memory.Chasing 315 we were Tuk tuking 3 runs of 3 overs lol.That Sachin went absolutely crazy and we promoted Robin Singh to no.3 .That was master stroke from Azhar.

Kanitkar became sensation overnight

yuvraj singh during the entire 2011 WC campaign was "extreme heroism" personified.

lol go back and look at azhar's face at the end of the match, he was very sad, he probably lost a lot of money due to an unexpected Indian win, despite his match fixing efforts

Apparently, misbah's scoop t20wc2007 and semi final 2011was heroic, on a serious note, how can anyone forget kapil's 175 and catch of Richards, India was down and out at 12/5 then he just unleashed on zims so ferociously that by the time the innings ended India got match in their pocket ,sunil said once that Kapil was so angry, that when he walked angrily towards dressing room, the whole Indian team had to hide, also,who can forget Sachin in cb final not to forget Ravi shastri in b&h World Series ,the dhoni and yuvi show in Pakistan ,sehwag decimating New Zealand in New Zealand ,shastri and Co defending 125 against pak

Kapil's 175 would be among the best, but how many of us saw watched it (as per question). Some of us weren't born, others were too young.  And wasn't there a TV strike on top of that?
