velu Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 The world has changed for the Mumbai-born youngster Shreyas Iyer after a brilliant domestic season culminated with an IPL contract with Delhi Daredevils, and he has already had his day under the sun by earning comparison with Rohit Sharma. The domestic leagues should be taken seriously and Shreyas is a great example of what long yards in the first-class arena can do to a cricketer as 20-year-old earned a contract of 2.6 crore with Delhi and is expected to be one of the uncapped players to watch out for. another nohit  http://ibnlive.in.com/news/cricketnext/in-shreyas-iyer-india-have-the-next-rohit-sharma-ta-sekar/538620-78.html

vvvslaxman Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Shreyas Iyer must be happy that he will selected for 100 matches without substantial contributions. beetle, Garuda and sscomp32 3
rkt.india Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Iyer, Hooda, Samson 3 power hitters for future. All 3 about age 20. They should graduate to next level in next 2 years.
express bowling Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 We need a good power hitter at 7 who is a decent bowler too. Hooda may fit the bill.
express bowling Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Good innings by Iyer today. 40 off 30 deliveries. 3 sixes. 2 off fast bowlers. Pulled well. Played some good cricketing shots during the beginning of his innings.
Forever Indian Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Doesn't seem a natural T20 player. But if he continues doing well in FC then IPL will be good limelight for him... Chakdephatte 1
sensible-indian Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I agree with ForeverIndian. Doesn't seem naturally good. Anyone can hit a sixes and make up their SR in IPL but if you don't look good even in IPL, its not a good sign. Early days for Iyer but as of now, he has looked nothing special to me. Guys like Mayank Agarwal have something about them but temperament is a huge problem for them. Chakdephatte 1
sensible-indian Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 And I just checked Mayank's List A average. 46 with 100SR. He does look quality. Chakdephatte 1
kubrickian Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 IPL would be the last place for me to decide how good or bad a player is. Maybe someone could be selected for T20 side based on IPL records but that's about it.
sensible-indian Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Shreyas Iyer's stats are amazing. First class average of 50 with whopping 75 SR. List A average of 50 with 92 SR. But why does he not look as good as his stats say? :hitler:
Shivaji bhonsle Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Powerful boy. Reminded me of Younger version of Uthappa. Will definitely play for India.

Also, Iyer has already done better than Aggarwal in FC.
velu Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 Agarwal guy is useless. Even Pandey is better than him. Bulbul rightly said once , will get out after hitting one six per game Chakdephatte 1
BeautifulGame Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Agarwal is just an inferior version of Yusuf Pathan .
