If he can each up daddy hundreds even inconsistently at home, I'd take him. Can win matches on his own. But can he though? It's one thing bashing an out of sorts England. Anyway he should have never been dropped after that triple ton. Sends a wrong message to upcoming performers

300 is a stellar achievement, even if it comes against a demoralized England. No wonder in 70+ years of Indian cricket only 2 players have touched that mark. After being pummeled senseless by England in the 2011-14 period, Nair's 300 warmed my heart like very few innings do. Dropping him was a cruel joke because many big players struggled in that Aus series. Had he been from Mumbai or Delhi he would never have been dropped, lobby is still a big thing in Indian cricket. And I wonder if Kumble-Kohli fallout had any effect on the subsequent treatment of Karnataka players.

I wish for Indian crickets sake that is not true. Such petty issues should not stop us from playing our best XI and selecting the best reserves.

Yep . I thought he should have gone to Nidahas trophy. He had a good Ranji too, been under par in IPL but still one of the better domestic Batsmen hope he does great for the A team
