That's only true for when he plays for the chuskis....

In reality, Dhoni must be dying to give it back to Harsh but failing every time. :phehe:

They will give it back when Pune avoids the wooden spoon and Dhoni plays a meaningless knock.

Though i do not agree with OP but what is this Dhoni hate in a thread where Rohit's place has been in question by Dhoni? Two polar opposite discussions. Looks like some fans can't take even a simple question easily that they have to resort with bringing Dhoni in ever little topic.

Very similar discussion. Both look woefully out of form and can be replaced if it goes on.

I am a big fan of Dhoni, but if people think Rohit should be dropped because of a couple of IPL matches, then Dhoni hasn't done much in this IPL either.

Both should be playing in the CT.

Dhoni proved in 50 over recently that he is a fine player, albeit not the same finisher.

How many good settled batsmen anyways we have going into CT?

Dhawan, Rohit and KL Rahul haven't played much recently or have been out of the team due to form or injury.

Yuvi has bene hit and miss and was just revently picked.

Pant, the deserving youngster hasn't played a single ODI yet for India.

So who's left with experience now? only two players - Kohli and Dhoni.

You telling me that Kohli is single handedly going to take us to the finals and win it?

We need Dhoni and his selection shouldn't even be in question. Only these two bats are sure shot along with someone like Pant should be given the opportunity.

Rest all need to be debated.

Dhoni’s experience is of zilch value if his form his scratchy. If Rohit gets back to his groove, he will be far more valuable. Yuvi might end up being the go-to guy in CT, if form during the last ODI series is the only criteria. If Yuvi looks good during IPL, Kohli + Yuvi is anyday better than Kohli + Dhoni (in this form).

Dhawan/Rohit

Rahul

Kohli

Kedar

Yuvi

is fine. Nothing to panic.

Of course Yuvi of old will be great and I would love to see that but we are not even discussing him.

Dhoni's selection is guaranteed for CT, no one gives a damn about IPl failure honestly ,and no one should either for both Rohit and Dhoni.

Similarly, Rohit's selection is also guaranteed as we shouldn't give a damn about what he does in IPL, now if he is still struggling in warm up games leading to CT, then we can make him sit out but Rohit's selection in the squad and Dhoni's selection are guaranteed for CT.

Virat knows that too and hence he played Dhoni in recent ODI series against England and that was supposed to be our last swries going into CT, ao there won't be much change from that series, other than Rohit coming back who did not play in that series.

So all in all, pick both Rohit and Dhoni in the squad, and go by what they do in CT warm up games. Who ever is looking good should play.

These IPL t20s are not to judge a batsman's form. The format is such that it does not allow the batsman to settle down, Rohit bats differently when he plays for India than what he does here in IPL for Mumbai, same with Dhoni.

Don’t say no one gives a damn... some people do that’s why we are discussing it.

Even jaddu is better batsmen than sachin :congrats::congrats::congrats:

Even Nehra is a better batsman than Sachin. Hope that made your day.

As far as Rohit goes, I think a big score is just around the corner for him. Coming back from injury he is a bit rusty. He is the kind of player that needs a rich vein of form behind him for him to play fluently. I suspect a big knock is coming up pretty soon.

50 overs game can't be compared to t20. Rohit and Dhoni will take a little time in 50 overs and bat differently in that format and the whole mindset to bat is different. There is less scoreboard pressure in that format so batsmen can freely bat and switch gears when they are set so that will surely allow them better chance to score more runs compared to t20 game as such in IPL where they are always looking to up the anti as few slow overs put their team's runrate in huge mess.

Hence I say, wait till the warm up games and see how they are doing.

its not like they are getting out hitting. They are getting out defending most of the time.

Low on confidence, especially Rohit. Need more time.
