Karthik's an unreliable git who couldn't even bat well against NZ in the warm-ups - scratched around for a 10 ball duck because he realized he had a chance to make a case for selection since Yuvi was sick. Total bottler at the top level. Ash and Jaddu both have to play against the Saffers. So does Pandya. We won't win this game by shortening the batting lineup either. Pandya may get benched if both Ash and Jaddu are playing, since the part-timers are also spinners. So its either Ash in for Yadav, or Ash and Shami in for Yadav and Pandya. Anything else is far-fetched I think. Let's see what King Kohli decides to go with.

He's one of the very few who can bat at a high SR and he will have a much bigger role to play if the openers fail, which may very well happen against SA.

Autonomous Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Have Yuvraj out or maybe Hardik. The latter is young and deserves to play every match against top opposition, So probably should be Yuvraj. Ashwin can come in, SAF were clueless against Imad so Jadeja will cause trouble as well. Shami in for Umesh.

SA played too many shots early on while India took it easy after the first wicket fell expecting an easy win. Now they have to fight each other to stay in the tourney, a shame. Ultimate_Game 1
