Captaincy is overrated ,Neither Dhoni would do anything about lendl Simmons  noball and poor bowling neither can Kohli.

No it's not.

He couldnt do about Lendl Simmons no ball but could have done about not opening with Rahane and wasting powerplay.

My point is we have a solid nucleus, so we need to build a core around it,

Openers :pant,rahul,dhawan,tripathi

Middle order:kohli, samson, iyer, sarfaraz(need to handle him with care), pandey, vishnu Vinod

Allrounders :hooda, sundar, pandya twins, negi and Vijay shankar

Spinners :kuldeep,chahal

Pacers :shami, Umesh, bhuvi, bumrah, thambi, siddharth kaul, mohd siraj, nathu, aniket chaudhary. That should be the core

Sarfraz Army will win it and you will watch it on TV.

Disagree chacha. Winning CT is a curse that Pakistan has now acquired.

Thinking again, does form really matter in such big tournaments? Certain players seems to rise to the occasion. The likes of Dhawan, Sharma had poor form at start. So will we play them for WC19 even if they have poor form? And who are other such players who perform well in such big comp.?

Note that Ind has been thrashed by both Pak and SL in this competition. Our KO games win were against SA and BD

Ganguly and Dhoni showed a lot more mental strength than Kohli has even until now.    Kohli is not a leader - Sarfaraz took a bunch of nobodies and let them to win the CT  -  he wasn't playing "friends"  - he sat people out and he brought people in - he guided the youngsters to give their best , never did he hype any of them.

Fakhar has played amazing and Sarfaraz in post match interviews kept him grounded and no hype was created ,  Yuvraj made 50 against Pakistan and Virat was making school girl statements in post match interview

Keeping the older players makes sense only if they are winning - like the Aussies in 2005-2007 who were called dad's army but still managed to win world cup and achieved a clean sweep in the ashes. Our oldies are not winning, and are only going to get worse. With this loss, the need to send them off has been reinforced even more.

They have value but they do not represent how good you are or what your worth.

Australia winning in Australia but struggling in India makes them beatable but India winning at home and losing elsewhere makes them invincible ?

In  neutral venue - if you lose to a number 8 side then firstly then ratings don't matter so Pakistan being 8 isn't corrrect and India being number 1 is worthless.

Secondly,  if you only win and are so strong in only one sort of environment then you are very one dimensional and would get exposed in a different environment and we did - so how are we world beaters or world champions like we proclaim ?

The issue being discussed was Kohli's test captaincy.

How can it be questioned when he has never even drawn a test series and won everything ?

How do you know that he would do worse  than other Indian captains in tests outside Asia and on what basis ?

Very good ODI team....covers all bases.

Not selecting Krunal for the WI series was a poor decision.

I just want to question those stats on the basis of where they have been played and against what odds .

When your team is playing in a home condition and odds are in your favor 8-1 and you win , does it prove much ?

For ODIs  -  Rohit is the only choice coming to mind.

1st let him be fit ....he has been getting injured far to often

2nd - a captain shud 1st have permanent place for next few yrs so hecan safely plan forward. Here u wanted his place to be even challenged.

3rd - have u seen his acts in past-

Calling oppm bolwer to india - imagine the headline next day if he wud have done that as captain

His refusal to go on zimb tour when offered captaincy just to rest

4th- u want gambhir to captain as well

Stick to one option, captaincy aint muscial chairs. N do u seen other boards removing morgan, smith or anyone else ....they didnt even reach finals. Do u see Aussie board changing smith coz he didnt win IPL and warner did , now CT failure.

It is an issue about why an existing captain deserves to be removed from test captaincy without losing anything. What is the basis of that thought process?

If you think the only blemish or issue with Virat's captaincy is because they lost the finals today .....you need to catch up.  Virat's captaincy has been horrendous since the get go.

I've wanted Gambhir in the team in the CT -I'v put that here many a times if you've missed.

If there is no one else who's a captaincy material except Kohli - GG is definitely one.  He has shown more leadership qualities than Kohli imo

  1. Subcontinent wins only do not dictate your captaincy acumen
  2. Kohli when captaining without Dhoni - IPL ( as an example) has been downright awful
  3. Rahane used Umesh wonderfully in Kohli's absence
  4. Kohli is a great batsman but against Australia his captaincy made his batting suffer
  5. The CT regardless of India making it to finals - Kohli's rigid behavior or sticking to same 11 , Bowling Ashwin full 10 overs and negative body language is not captaincy worth behavior.

Whether he get's removed or not isn't my call but He's not the captain who will lead us to bigger things
