Our recent record in SF/Finals

Recommended Posts

Posted

Since our 2013 win, we have lost 2014 T20 final, 2015 semi, 2016 semi, and now this 2017 final. And in 3 of them we were favorites. Is this failing under pressure or just sheer bad luck? A real concern? Nevertheless, still a great record to be in every semi final but yet failing to win the cup itself.

Since that Ct win, india are choking quite a lot on big days

Thank god, I stayed up late that night to see us winning. Cannot believe that the next ICC trophy is still being awaited.

Yup, even 2007 T20 WC and 2011 WC were long due...we had to wait decades for those. I think winning 3 ICC trophies from 2007-2013 is a feat that is very very tough to achieve. And we can only hope Kohli and the team learns the ways to win Championships like those teams led by Dhoni.

One heartbreak per year. Well at least there's no ICC event next year.

They are planning a T20 next September in South Africa.

No India is not choking. Just that we aren't able to hide our obvious weakness in big matches. They get exposed in the most important match.

WC2015:  We obviously have had weak batting for Aussie Pattas. It was basically Shikhar, Rohit and kohli. Rest are just forfor accumulating numbers. And our defensive strategy of containing in bowling didn't work because Australia took it heads on and tore it into parts. One reason why you need genuine wicket takers in teams. As many as possible.

Wct2016 :  Yet again defensive approach to batting was culprit. Also bringing Rahane for Dhawan. We were wrong in tactics. Rather than choking

CT2017 :  Yuvi and Dhoni in middle order. This was a flat pitch and a good middle order could have saved India here.

Each time we knew our weakness. Fans pointed that out. And finally those played spoilsport in an important knockout or final match.

Lol 339 middle order could have saved :hysterical: when your 3 batsmen scored 3 for 33... 2 for 7

For chasing big scores you need good opening partnership... middle order played 1 match whole tour or 2 by max

But..but.. we've never played for india so how can we comment? We must leave it to those who pick ashwin, jadeja, yuvraj and dhoni and think rohit is the world's best opener!

Yeah right! Top 3 should always score. Middle order is just for filling a team sheet. Every single time top3 were performing. They were due one bad game. That's what middle order is for. It wasn't a difficult pitch either.

Ha play 1 match in whole tournament and suddenly put them in final with no match experience and hey here you go

Score me 300 in 40 overs with 7 wics left

If its not a difficult pitch then why did clown get out for a duck ? He is known patta hacker... At the end of the day good bowling and very bad batting which lead to this.

Dhoni needs match experience? :hysterical:

What all things that dhoni needs because I am sure you are offended only because I included dhoni's name? He needs time to be set. He needs some time to launch his own platform even when top order has provided one? What else?  Let me tell you. He needs Raina or Yuvi firing at the other end to be effective.

You are blaming just the middle order...  why would i be offended ? I know you are a blind hater so its obvious every post lol that would be the last thing to be offended about...  no matter how many odis you played you need to spend some time the middle that can be yuvi dhoni kedar or who ever else

You still to phastttt bowling lol

Why shouldn't blame middle order? Top 2 wickets in a flash. After that nobody took responsibilty. Dhoni and Yuvraj are players with vast experience. If you defend dhoni today then don't have anything to say.

And who is blaming only middle order batsman? Bowlers allowed far too much to be scored by this Pakistan batting. But honestly with the kind of batting lineup we have and patta one would expect our strength that is batting to sail through this. Pandya after 5 wickets was showing intent and more sense. Mind you after smashing he was taking singles. But our middle order maharathis couldn't even save their wickets and build a partnership.
