Bumrah needs to be tried in Test matches

The kids inspired by Bumrah are probably teens now and should be coming through in the next few years? Correct?

what a great way to get to his first major milestone - 100 wickets.. 

 

his next target should be to pick wickets in a cluster whenever he is on a roll like 6 for or 7 for ( Broad like spells ) .. difficult with our wolf pack and home tests but he should aim for it

Absolutely but I feel bumrah is one of a kind tbh. We will have very good bowlers in the future. Even great ones sure. But bumrah is special. He is in the class of steyn. Yes he is that good.

Very true. If one or 2 falls, others all start picking heaps as well. Bumrah only had 2 despite bowling a legendary spell. Impact created by him allowed others to decimate the opposition.

But Pat Cummins is the best test bowler currently. He is McGrath plus Steyn Combined. Bumrah is less Steyn more McGrath.

He should aim to get more consistent with new ball. That is our biggest hurdle recently, we have lots of good old ball bowlers

Pat Cummins lacks both the outswing and skiddiness of Steyn.

 

He is very very good as a test bowler but his bowling style is that of a much quicker McGrath. The same accuracy, bounce, seam movement and sudden bouncers.

 

Bumrah's reminds me of a shorter Ambrose. The same back of a length bouncing balls at pace, some seam movement, very accurate, sudden yorkers and bouncers that are lethal.

Bumrah hasn't played much in India yet. 4 wickets in 2 tests at 32. Cummins 8 wickets in 2 tests in India at 30. We have to wait how Bumrah does at home.

Averages 24 in first class in India. He will be better.

If you’d asked an Indian fan in the 90s, what is your wish list, they would have said a) world class pace bowler/attack and b) destructive WK batsman. While we got b) in 2004, a) took another 10 years but it’s been worth the wait. Bumrah might end up amongst top 10 fast bowlers ever the way he’s going.
