Bumrah did not speak like a fanboy of Malinga. He was specific about the things he learnt from Malinga.

On the other hand,

Kohli says Dhoni is his permanent captain.

M Pandey says he learnt half the batting from dhoni which anyone can see isn't true since dhoni is unorthodox batsman while Pandey is orthodox.

I urge you to again read what pandey said, he is talking about Dhoni the cricketer and how he conducts himself (i think he talk about learning how to pace your inning, remaining calm and behavior on and off field) nowhere did he say i learn half my batting from Dhoni.

Plenty wrong. Malinga has proven himself as a good bowler over an extended period of time. Dhoni is a good wicketkeeper with average batting skills. He is not a specialist batsman and there are dozens other who can do better. Dhoni has no batting skillset that people can not learn from others. This is shameful hero worship culture of India that keeps it from progressing. I wish this sob will go away.

I learned cooking from Dhoni. Without his masters help I could not have cooked. Now that I am a decent cook all the credit must go to Dhoni. I am so thankful for him to teach me cooking.

Let me clarify. I am not Anti Dhoni or anti any player. I am calling it as I see it. At his peak he was a ggod wkt keeper and a decent bat. No more no less. He is neither now. It is his followers who are propogating these myths about his batting. In my mind his followers are like that of guru Ram Rahim. Just blind faith and nothing else.

Seriously, he was just a "decent bat", even at his peak?  An in-prime Dhoni is an ODI ATG.  If that's just decent to you, then you've got either an ignorance issue, or a massive blind spot when it comes to all things Dhoni.  

 

Btw, I totally agree that he's no longer that good as an ODI bat.  A shadow of the great ODI batsman he once was.  He's still serviceable, but only if he can consistently give us good performances at 90+ SR.  Ideally I want him to retire in the next 6 months or so.  Let's see what happens.

Not sure if you were following Indian cricket in the 2006-2012 timeframe.  What are Dhoni's obvious flaws today - strike-rate, boundary hitting, inability to get going quickly when he first starts batting - he was basically all-world in all those respects back then. There's a reason his ODI batting numbers are right up there, even if you take out his huge number of not-outs.   

 

And apart from his big-hitting, consistent batting, and related statistical achievements.  Dhoni's temperament in pressure situations and his tendency to come through was something I haven't seen in Indian cricket in 30 years.  Its almost tragic to watch him bat these days - all of his strengths have slowly and steadily atrophied into weaknesses.
