Must be flat . Even barbie manned up to get  50

Matches the flatness of the old Adelaide ground, but still superb stuff from Chef!

2 paced sluggish track on the slower side, if it were flat Aussies would have got another 500+ score.

Aussies lost 3-4 of their wickets to inside edges, had they been as careful as England in their shot selection they would have got 500+ as well.

On a general note tracks in oz sooo flat these days . Goes a long way to explain smiths average these days . Of course good batting but very flat tracks in oz for number of years now

Also explains Kohli's overseas record, massively inflated by that one series in 2014-15. We got a lively track in Brisbane but Mr Kohli went MIA, leaving the onerous task to a more accomplished batsman in Murali Vijay :aetsch:.

Unfortunately has good record in nz and sa as well. Averaging over 68 in both plus 62 in oz :phew:

Even vijay would disagree with this :giggle:

Vijay is good against swing and on rank turners. Kohli is no better than a Bumrah in those situations.

He is s a chanpion player. Players mentioning tht he is ftb earlier and sucked against Australia most times other than 2010 to defend their point are getting their answer.

Anyone with 10k runs is a champion player and Cook is one of those.

10k+ is a lot of runs and people should look at themselves in the mirror first before commenting on such a great stalwart who has achieved so much in Cricket before giving them a stick. Again 10k runs, thibk about it what it takes to achieve that and then think about giving a player some hard time.

What is the point of getting runs when series is done and dusted...
I like those players who stand against the tide...
Unfortunately, averages are what people look at....not how cheap those runs were...

Series is alive or not. Its a potentially match winning marathon knock played on the foreign soil against very good bowlers.

Cook is only 33, he can still play if he wants to.

He is no ATG but if he is willing to put efforts to get back in form he can set himself up for next ashes at home.

I think ECB will supports him till he break SRT's 15921.Day before yesterday he passed Mahela/ Chanderpaul and Lara.he need 44 more to reaches 12000 test runs.

After Sydney test he has 2  test vs Pak and 3 vs India so those 12 innings ( Incl Sydney) he will accumulate yet another 750+

I feel sorry for England because at Lunch on day 5, Aus.were  14 for 4 ( minus lead of 164) with 66 overs (rain God Robbed English victory) still left.

Negative batting by Smith/ m.marsh stops England from winning after Lunch.

I even more sorry for Davey (103 and 86) because if he manages 14 more HE COULD BECOME FIRST INT'L PLAYER WITH CENTURY IN EACH INNINGS, 4TH TIME

Gavaskar

Ponting

Warner

Did it, 3 times.

Dead wicket nothing for bowlers otherwise you can not bats session after session on day 5 wicket at particular Melbourne.Curator sets the game.

Every country doctored the wicket, nothing wrong.
