Story ended much before when rohit was compared with Sachin.

yeah, no idea why people comparing SRT and Kohli.  Kohli is just on a different level.  The numbers he has amassed are beyond imagination at this point.  SRT's closes rival right now is Rohit, not Kohli. Both Rohit and SRT have had similar career graphs in ODIs.

90s Zimbabwe were much better than today's Lanka or westindies.

but Kohli has played SL at their strongest as well, not just today's SL.  In SRT's time, we had poor Kenya and BD and very average NZ side.  While today's BD is better than Zim of 90s and even England ODI team of mid to late 90s.  Zim ever had a single batsmen as good as current WI batsmen.

Starc, Cummins, Rabada, Morkel, Johnson, Steyn, Ajmal, Hazlewood, Boult, Malinga, Bumrah could have made any team in the 90s.  and Koli's career is 10 years old.  He is not a newbie, playing form 2008.  He played Murli at his best, Mendis at his best successfully.  He played Brett Lee at his best as well.  He played Shoaib too.  He has played Kallis, Steyn, Morkel, Johnson all at their best years.

None of the names you mentioned are outstanding odi bowlers. I have seen them get threshed in limited overs cricket on pattas.Rabada,Johnson,Boult all can be either wayward or expensive in LOIs.

Murali retired in 2011. Kohli debuted in 2008? So did Lee and Akhar who hardly played during this period due to all the PCB crap.

Malinga and Morkel  I will give you that. However never seen him tear apart Morkel.Malinga yes but Malinga was becoming a T20 specialist by then.

you are telling me Murali and the others peaked during this period?

2ws,2cs,Donald-Pollock, Murali-Warne were all different beasts in Sachin era. Even guys like Vaas,Streak were really a handful

Going by your logic most of today's batsman are head and shoulders above past superstars. And Soon fakhar zaman will become the greatest opener world has seen.  Babar is already Better than Lara.

It’s weird. Rohit Sharma has 3 200s and came close to it plenty of other times  but we are the first ones to say Viv Richards was better which obviously is a fact. However the ones arguing pretty much in favor of Kohli right now will be the first to point that out.

No one rates Dhawan over say someone like Jayasuriya even though Dhawan has better stats and 100 rate.

However with Kohli they pull every stat to prove that he is better than Sachin  pretty sure it is not love for Kohli

same way your donald, pollocl Ws, Cs, Murli would get thrashed in modern cricket.  You are seeing current bowlers from 90s POV but not doing the same for 90s bowlers.  See 90s bowlers from modern POV as well.

That is an assumption you are making. The only dominants bat in that era were Sachin,Lara,Mark Waugh,Anwar and Desilva

I am not counting Ponting,Saurav,Inzamam,Sanga etc because they peaked in the dawn of 2000s when batting was becoming easier.

I am not counting Jayasuriya because he is an anamoly and you can’t measure his impact in stats.

So that leaves is with the names I mentioned

Anwar made merry mostly against us. Desilvas prime lasted a couple of years. Mark Waugh too had a small peak.

That leaves us with Lara and Sachin and obviously there’re are the 2 batsman synonymous with ATG batsmen even today. Sachin over Lara obviously even though Lara was my personal favorite.

Jaysuriya pioneered the modern one day cricket.  still i dont rate jaysuriya that high.  He just thrashed Indian bowlers.  Dhawan is certainly better than Jaysuriya.  Jaysuriya could be more destructive but was inconsistent like Sehwag.  i dont rate Sehwwa as ODI batsman too.  Consistency is imperative for me.

SL in 1996 was not at their strongest.  They were underdogs in 1996 that is why they did not do much in 90s after WC. SL were at their strongest in 2000s and 2010s before their ATgs in Sanga, Jaya, Murli, Dilshan retired.  it is like saying India were at their strongest in 1983.
