he was never selected for ODIs. He was selected for England T20 and played that. Then got selected for WI T20 and then played that too.

He was in the squad for the ODIs against WI after CT17. Didn't play any of the 5 games. The powers that be preferred Karthik to bat at 4

These diet plans and restrictions are an overkill for a cricketer. Cricketers don't need to be super athletic. Eat what you want of course hygienics but train hard. These fancy Keto diet or unnecessary restriction like no butter chicken or naan are not required atleast for cricketer. If one is overweight only then he can avoid those.

and people are complaining about that slow T20 innings against WI where he was visibly rusty.

He was selected for Odis but didn't play even 1 of them.

Those WI Odis pitches were tough compared to a patta that was given for T20s. You should be happy he didn't play or he would have been totally exposed.

So that doesn't fullfil some people's  agenda here that makes perfect sense and I doubt pant can ever replace MS in that squad. Its like hacks like maxwell/afridi (batsmen) trying to replace bevan.
