Yes, there is a lot of upcoming talent but don't think they are ready likes of Siraj, Thampi, Saini, Rajpoot, Chaudhary. Rajpoot can be fine too in those conditions too. These five are the closest to be ready.

Would be great to have few of them ready by next year Ind-Aus series, or the Ind-NZ series after that. I hope management are looking into that.

Not all venues support swing bowling on all 5 days in England

Hit-the-deck seam bowlers are needed too

But still the ability to swing is the main skillset needed over there. Even Steyn has got orninary numbers in England, for he is not a swing bowler. Someone like Philander will be deadly in those conditions.

Even a trundler like Sohail khan has match winning performances.

Steyn is swing bowler. His numbers are poor because he played during a very dry season. Sohail Khan isn't a trundler, bowls 135-140

Steyn is primarily a swing bowler and Philander is a seam bowler. The English commentary team were discussing in great detail how bad Philander became when he tried to swing the ball.

We should have another allrounder for tests other than Pandya. Too much load on Pandya . More over we should have more than one option.

Pandya is not even the confirmed option full time in tests. In ODI’s its working but in south Africa in tests, it remains to be seen.

He will be tried in first test and if it fails, he might get dropped because he is surely not better bowler than any of our current bowlers, and neither the better batsman than any of them. He is just there to bring balance so we can have that extra batting or bowling option, but if he is not able to handle either of them, then he will be quickly dropped.

Bumrah is a rookie too and Navdeep has played in SA with India A and did well.

You should see how the bowler has come up and does he show intelligence in working himself to be a better bowler with adding       new varieties ?  People with an eye for these , would never consider Bumrah a rookie now ! . That too after bowling to top class international batsmen for nearly 1.5 years.

Recent 6 months , it was so apparent who has improved by leaps & bounds among indian quicks !

I just do not buy this " ROOKIE" tag to Bumrah at all . PERIOD !!

umesh is a dustbin bowler in overseas ......just play him in sub-continent tests and then dump him into vidharbha ......bumrah and aniket choudhary, shardul thakur are good prospects as they hit the pitch hard with control

Shardul Thakur isn't fit enough to sustain intensity nor accurate

A captain like Imran Khan would have picked someone like an Ishan Porel for SA test squad as the dark horse.

Genuine physically threatening pace, can hit the deck hard and gets steep bounce and seam movement both ways.

Not a spray-gun. Decent accuracy.

Seems like he can sustain pace and intensity, which is much needed in tests.

Just picked up 5 wickets to win it for Bengal.

Has taken 10 wickets in his first 2 FC matches.
