200 wickets for Trent Boult

In 52 matches at average of 28.56.

He can easily end up with 300-330 test wickets.

Wagner on the other hand has already taken 144 wickets in 34 matches at avg of 27.79.

They both are proving to be better than Ishant Sharma!!! But Ishant can also easily reach 300+ mark if he keeps his form. In fact, Ishant will end up as second most successful pace bowler from India behind the great Kapil Dev.

Wagner has a quick arm action and being left handed helps him a lot and then he does not have to play a lot of tests in SC.

for me...boult is the best left arm seamer around...M. Starc is over-rated

Yeah, a bowler who has better averages in both forms, more fifers in more than a dozen tests less is overrated.

Lol, Boult is left handed Anderson, relies a lot on conditions. Starc is a totally different beast, takes the pitch out of equation with his pace and accuracy.

I feel he is an underachiever, 3 years back he showed glimpses of greatness. But now just another very good bowler.

because he got injured after 2015 WC and took him some time to gain his pace and rhythm back. he is still quite young.

They are different types of bowlers that are equally successful. Not Steyn ATG level but pretty good.

Boult has more control and probably swings the ball a bit more

Starc is faster and gets more bounce.

They would make a great new-ball pair!

A NZ all time XI would have a Hadlee, Bond , Boult pace trio. Not half bad. And Vettori backing them up.

That's quite a quality bowling unit!  Hard to really think of too many quality bats from NZ though - apart from Martin Crowe and Kane Williamson - the rest are quite middling.

What's the latest on Steyn?  Is he a lock to play the 4 day farce against Zimbabwe on Boxing day?

It looks like it, he was impressive in the local T20s. Bowled with plenty of accuracy and decent pace.

dempster and donnelley from the pre-war era allegedly. but most are/were quite ordinary apart from kane, crowe and to a lesser extent ross.
