Even Rahul would not have agreed with 7 or less. They got Sarfaraz for 1.7 cr which is not much. Though I am not sure he is even worth that.

What's important is what's deducted from the auction purse. How did RCB get deducted 31 Cr for 3 retentions (2 normal + 1 uncapped). For 2 normal retentions, deduction is 21 Cr. So effectively they lost 10 Cr for retaining Sarfaraz?

For the sake of the team, Kohli and AB should have let RCB to retain just 2 of them at normal pricing (12 and 8.5), for a total of 21 Cr. leaving plenty left for the auctions. Now, in effect, they bought Sarfaraz for 10 Cr. PS: Or they should have retained 3 ... Kohli, AB, Chahal/Gayle/Rahul ... for 15,11,7 Edited January 4, 2018 by philcric
