Wasim Akram

Alan Davidson 

Gary Sobers 

Zaheer Khan

Mitchell Johnson 

Not in any order except Wasim no 1

4, Vaas ( longevity + quality)

5, Starc( he will probably go ahead of others by the time he is finished)

great innings. him and Flintoff..he almost got out to Yuvi though lol..but it was all Zak. KP had his great moments in India, a bit like Hayden. Very good players elsewhere, but greats innings played in India.

everyone is entitled to their own opinion but am really surprised that people rate Johsnon over Vaas and Zak

true Johnson had lows that were pretty Wahab Riaz but his highs were pretty well Johnson who is just behind Akram.

Depends on batsman , someone like graeme smith or upal tharanga will name zak the toughest as he made their life a hell

He was but as you say when fit. He didn't play enough tests for me.

Mitch Johnson for me wasn't really a great bowler , he gets a reputation like Jeff Thomson because of some series of express pace but generally he was all over the place

Not sure about Gary Sobers. He was an all time great allrounder, but as a pace bowler, he wasnt special.

 

Checked Alan Davidson's old video out of curiosity. Doesnt look more than 120's. Quick for his time though.

Alan Davidson was generally regarded within cricket that until Wasim that he was the greatest left arm seamer . 

Gary Sobers because he was a great batsmen it's now thought he was batsman who bowler a bit but that's false . He was equally good at both , mainly a swing bowler both away and into batsmen.

I did think about Vaas and it was a toss of a coin between him and Johnson.

Vaas is special because of his longevity and the kind of workhorse he was for his country. He, like Srinath, had to carry the weight of his team all alone. And thats special.

I can go with that, Johnson now 6th best, he is  in the middle of his wild spells. Hehe

Although I personally understand the rationale behind Johnson ranked above Zaheer, I wouldnt agree. I think Zaheer was only 2nd to Wasim.. and perhaps Alan davidson.
