I'm not degrading his achievements. It's a great achievement.

Two Test maces under Dhoni. Two under Virat already. Unlike Dhoni, Virat is not done yet at Test level. We might lose the mace in 2019 as we mostly play overseas, but I back Virat to get at least get one more mace.

Now let me explain why the only MS that Dhoni has is in his name. Dhoni inherited the number 2 Test side in the world, took the team to number 1 and from 2011 on wards, a phase of terminal decline began. He deserted the team at number 7.

Virat inherited the number 7 team and has made them number 1. This is the difference. These are verifiable facts. So no MS for MSD in Test cricket.

He is a LOIs genius, no arguments. Let's not overrate him in Tests though.

Okay, fair enough.

Virat is going to overtake everyone by the time he retires. Batting, Best Test captain in the history of game. We have so many players being developed in domestics and the current team has to be the best team to win everything. IMO, Winning is everything. Results will speak for itself.

Only tough thing will be WCs and Champions trophy - T20 and ODI both. That will always be tough to achieve. Hopefully with Dhoni around, we can win another WC

or sachin :phehe:

( lets see how many gets triggered )

Sachin should have retired in 2011 but carried on till 2013 even then he played few games in between and a lot of young talent were tried.

Dhoni should have retired in 2015 and plays even against Zim,WI and Srilanka

should have retired from T20s in 2010 but will give him a pass

if if you can’t spot  the difference then can’t say anything.

I think he'll finish as India's most successful Test captain. He might score the most ODI hundreds but might not go past SRT's aggregate in either format, unless he can go on till he is 36. He needs a T20 WC to seal his status as a bonafide ATG in the format. He has every medal except the T20 WC and if he does win it, he will be in an elite category of players to have won everything there is to win, including u19 WC.

For English conditions, our top 3 alone will make us contenders. If the middle order can be sorted out, we'll defnitely be the favourites along with England. The problem might be the preparation. They'll finish the IPL prior to the WC and could be burnt out by then.
