He has reached the level of Rajni/Ajith/Vijay in TN and that comes with Crazy fans. And by crazy I mean crazyyyyyy. Seriously TN fans cannot take criticism about their idols. And ironically with Ambani's Jio making internet access cheap, they create these half baked memes mocking virat, Rohit and other players. And this does not stop with IPL like other team fans. When Saha fails, they create a meme. When India loses a test - meme. This goes on and on. I can give u some samples of memes that are absolutely cringe worthy. Ziva giving frooti to Dhoni, Dhoni lifting ziva. Jeez we get it. He is a good father. And simplicity memes. Oh man. Dhoni is so simple he shook hands with a fan. Or do people do it thinking that this region is primarily agrarian (and backward)? Each of the northern states have their own identity yet all are lumped together as one unit. Will it be fine if we start calling all South Indian people as Madrasi because that is a norm among ignorant people even today. Nowadays cow belt is lazily thrown about to describe the poor socio-economic conditions of the so called laggard states (but Haryana is a well to do state) and cow lynchings thus giving it negative connotation. Haryana, UP, Bihar, MP all are different culturally and even linguistically (yup Hindi isn't a common denominator) just like how the South Indian states are different... But seriously, Im not hip to your tamil friends but I live in chennai and I get absolutely no memes about Dhoni. I get plenty of comedy memes with Vadivelu, Rajini memes praising/trashing his political career, political memes. You have plenty of fans from other groups. MI has the most fans here on ICF and all memes are trashing Dhoni. So it works on the other side of the IPL too. If you get tired of living in Chennai, go live in Mumbai and Delhi for a while. You will see all kinds of memes. If you dont want memes from CSK, you can always opt out of their group or whatever. Nobody's putting their gun to your head and asking you to sign up for them. Chennai fans at the stadium are still the best-behaved fans. They enjoy good cricket. They have vast knowledge about cricket in general. Besides Dhoni's cult status is not limited to TN.
