Indian batting is not weak. Dhawan is the only batsman who should be surely dropped. Apart from him if Kohli wants to go bold the other batsman he can drop is Vijay. Rahul deserves more chances. Rahane is class and will bounce back.

Even the English were unable to bat on that pitch who are brought up on these types of pitches. If not for Sam Curran it would have been India's win.

But Eng fans can say if they had taken Kohli’s catches, they may have won by a bigger margin :dontknow:

One toss loss away from surrendering the series. If England wins next game, series is over.

Kohli wanted to bowl first on that pitch. I won't bet a penny on India chasing anything over 150 in 4th innings in SENA countries.

Lagging by 0-1 with 4 tests to go. Think we will win one test at least, most probably at Lords, even with same team because the conditions will be our comfort zone or the bubble we like. England will end up winning the series though. The macro level result won't change.

no chance for India now :cantstop: . England will come even more harder on next game since they got the momentum.

The captain and the coach need to introspect of the handling of their jobs. There's no hiding for them from this series onwards.

They are doing their best by selecting mediocrity.

^^^ the players need to step up not the captain and coach. Coach does not play on the field.Captain cannot do the job of other players.

If they consistently back mediocrity, this is what they get. I don't know if they are inept to read match situations or just arrogant.

If whole batting lineup is inept then it is not fault of coach or captain. They are not backing mediocrity, mediocrity is all they have got to play with, so they are trying their best to wade thru tough times with that mediocrity.

They did reduce their only practice match, didn't they? They were whining about it in the last SA tour and then how did they plan for this tour? It's just the same old krap from this management. Pakistan won their first Test match just a month ago. Maybe they are really sh!t at their jobs.

So you think Pujara who batted twice or Karthik who scored 80 plus would have done better with extra day.Other than Murali Vijay and Rahane, all other nine players have been playing in England for over month in limited over formats.Vijay and Rahane played full first class match for India A.

These guys play so much cricket these days , I am not suprised that they wanted lesser practice games.SA was different they just landed there and started playing first test.It was not lack practice which made them lose the match.

Losing a close match is no shame why are people hung up so much on the loss. Only one batsman showed and yet they were right there till last session with a chance to win.You cannot ask more from a visting team.

What has Pakistan winning got to do with India winning or losing , they played on different ground and different pitch.

Vijay and Rahane were the most important batsmen in this team and one more day with a practice session would've made a lot of difference here. Rahane was not out going at the end of the day 3 and him spending another session or two and scoring some runs would've got us through in this low scoring first game. The same thing happened in SA, we lost the first test and suddenly the whole momentum was with SA coming into the second game and they just hammered us. Here we lost the initiative by repeating the same phucking mistakes. What have they been doing with the slip catching? Dhawan made the same mistake in SA first Test and that was the turning point of the match. Here the same thing happened. You'd say Shastri is a brilliant coach and I'd say he's a full of sh!t making the same obvious errors.

If there was any accountability or sense of result oriented approach towards the job then  some decisions would have been taken when we lost against SA. We see same problems yet again. Repeat issues at this level is just shocking.
