clear indication of extra batsman and Jadeja proved to be netter than any of the contributions of lower mo so far.

not extra but new batsman

2 are still no show, so replace a batsman with batsman ...dnt give them a free ride

also jst have a look at bowling card the kind of load we have put on our bowlers

Not sure if he is brahmin  or not but he isn't a Mongol I was sarcastic there :p:

I knew a Delhi Lawyer whose surname is Pujara and he's a Gujarati Brahmin

Vihari should have played in place of Rahane or Dhawan / Rahul with changes to opening :dontknow:

nothing to to do with “extra” batsman, we are still “likely” to give lead and falter in the 4th to lose the game
Bhai ur love for Pandya is clouding ur logic.

It is simple. Our openers and middle order are not strong. And unless we sort that out we cannot afford to have someone like pandya at 6. We need an extra batsman there to strengthen the lower middle order. Like how Vihari did. Playing Vihari in place of Rahul/Rahane and all won't work. We need 6 proper batsmen and 1 keeper batsman now. As simple as that

Jadeja instead of Pandya

jadeja has to do a lot to be called an all rounder and even pandya

the only diff is pandya is new and he is still in a learning curve so team will be patient with him not jadeja.

So sort that out, replace them

Can u afford to get bhuvi n bumrah injured by putting workload on them or do u wanna make them cut down their pace

We can't play two spinners either, so Umesh is the 4th pacer? Its better to play Bhuvi and Shami both then

I would prefer

3 specialist pacers

Jadeja

4th pacer who can bat ... like Bhuvi or Pandya or Shankar

Shankar, who is a proper batsman, should be tried on juicy tracks.

Jadeja, atm, is more like a Warne, a bowler who can bat At 8-9.  .... Pandya will only improve as a batsman once he adjusts to the learning curve .... he can bowl fast, moves the ball both ways, and can make use of reverse as well .... he is an improving cricketer

That is a luxury we can't have now. Yes someone who can bowl 10-15 overs and keep it tight is an asset but only if top order is strong and only if the guy is a decent batsman. Unfortunately our top order is not strong and pandya still needs some FC experience to become decent.

Unless we have someone like Curran/Wokes/Stokes/Ali , we have no other option but to use proper batsman at no 6

I support Pandya because he has potential. He is in his first season so am not harsh on him. He has come up with match winning performances. Has the best avg difference in sub con and wins for Ind since he made his debut .... Pandya also decreases work load of pace bowlers

if  we had excellent 5 batsmen (avg 45-55)  and someone with 40-45 batting avg in the reserve, then you can increase your batting strength. You can NOT replace Pandya with an Aakash Chopra like specialist  and when other specialist batsmen in the line up avg in 20s-30s .... in subcon, Pandya’s batting avg is 60+

With the current s&w, best way we can compete is by bowling the opposition out quickly

so sought ur top, jst becoz ur batsman are nikkame dnt break ur bowler...soon ur bowling wud also go down

With WC a year the last thing u shud hope is bumrah getting injured or loosing pace

Pandya has no time to play FC.....he plays all formats . His growth will happen in international cricket only

If ur batsman cnt make runs be it 5 or 6 wnt matter, n luck wnt save vihari every day.

Ideal world this works. But 100/4 with Pandya/Bhuvi , Pant and Jadeja does not give any confidence.

Vijay Shankar looks decent. Maybe we can try him if fast bowling allrounder is the only type of allrounder we need

jadeja has improved too. I repeat this side will not miss Panyda's wickets.
