What about the ones with kids?

Let kids stay on tour too.Shikar's son is always all over the place ...interviews, team photos. Imagine if everyone's children were like that with over indulgent parents.

Then they will want a nanny ....then Creche and tutors too.

Does he realise we have been losing overseas ?

Pehle kuch jeet lein ,phir biwiyon waali farmaish pesh karein.

This guy is so whipped, he doesn't even use his brain  .

If he was allowed to use his brain, he would have asked for 2 weeks stay with wife on tour at any time suitable to the couple and the team.

I know, i wonder if other team members find it annoying.

After Indian captain Virat Kohli put in a request to the BCCI to extend the stay of WAGs during overseas series, there has been a decision made by the board.

The matter was discussed in the much-awaited meeting between Team India members and the Committee of Administrators (CoA).

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the CoA wants to follow the policy which is in place by the Cricket Australia. As per this policy, the CA works with the Australian Cricketers Association (the players’ union) and then chalks out a certain period for the families, which is called the family period. This aforementioned period keeps varying with different series and is dependent on the length of the tours.

However, with the 2019 World Cup approaching, the BCCI is in no mood to change the set precedent as far as World Cups are concerned. During the 2015 World Cup in Australia/New Zealand, the WAGs were not allowed till the semi-finals. This same policy will be employed during the next World Cup in England.

Speaking on the same issue, Gautam Gambhir said that family presence on tour works for some players but it may not for another.

“The player opinion varies. Only an individual can say because the individual has to play a Test match. Some want family to be there for the whole tour while others want little family time and they try to concentrate (on cricket),” Gambhir told India Today.

Are soldiers allowed to take their wives with them?

High ranking officials in armed forces have their families with them.

Why should the players not allowed to take their wives with them?? If it helps them perform better then they should be allowed to do it.

Why are people making such a huge deal out of this? This guy plays the most number of matches in a year for our country and it's completely fine if he needs his wife by his side. He doesn't need to be a people pleaser. Stop making a huge deal out of irrelevant ****.

If you are married,  aren't you in most cases living with your spouse. If you travel or in deputation , dont we take in family if feasible. So nothing wrong with what virat states . If it's a finance issue , then it would be the spouses responsibility to bear additional expenses .

Perform better? Bhai Eng tour bhool gaya kya? They were treating it as family trip. Travelling inter-cities in trains breaking the regular protocol of team bus. No accountability, what so ever. Karthik going to a holiday in copenhagen with his wife 5 days before test match...etc etc.

Indian cricket has not born in Kohli-Shastri era. How come ex great players never felt this need that suddenly current players do? Lets be honest, Kohli is bit of a biwi ka gulaam types. Just look at the amount of matches he skipped since he got married. And for his own benefit, he is forcing BCCI to change the rule.

The volume of cricket these days is too much and kohli is one of few who plays all formats and Ipl.so he has a valid concern.
