Australia are ranked 5th. Its a very bad ranking to be not in top 3. Average team. Their batting is dependent on Smith and Warner at home and Lyons bowling. Without Warner and Smith they have struggled to rank better the past whole year. After ball tampering the bowlers have looked even worse with their stats I suppose. But Indian team could only play and  win against what team they had to face. Not our problem that their two main batsmen at home were banned , not our problem their bowlers are having bad averages. We played and we deserved to win.

How many times, they got outbowled at home? Why are you bringing away here? we played in Australia and apart from SA, no team has challenged Australia at home in last decade.  what they did in India or SA or in England is trivial.  It is even same for England.  They got drubbings in SA, Aus and India but beaten us at home.  It is not easy to beat any SENA country at home for an Asian team.  There is a reason no Asian has ever won in Aus.

Fanie DeVilliers told home broadcast crew to try and look for ball tampering by Aussies as he suspected that as a reason to Aussies getting swing in one innings. That's how the camera men found the cheating and it has helped every other team that their bowlers are now no more getting the swing which they used to before ball tampering was exposed. The bowling averages of these bowlers are now higher.

Exactly.  This could be happening since years, who knows.

 

One thing is sure, since David Warner is out, the Australian bowling is no more the same. Some people here had already said when this cheating was exposed, and it is true that Aussies bowling is now ordinary without ball tampering. It reflects in the stats as well.

+1. On the basis of @R!TTER assessment we got outbowled in England and South Africa.

But anyone could easily asses that blame lies with our batsmen. Our bowling was terrific

“I said earlier on, that if they could get reverse swing in the 26th, 27th, 28th over then they’re doing something different from what everyone else does,’’ de Villiers told RSN Radio.

 

“We actually said to our cameramen ... go out (and) have a look boys. They’re using something. They searched for an hour and a half until they saw something and then they started following Bancroft and they actually caught him out at the end.

“It’s impossible for the ball to get altered like that on cricket wickets where we knew there was grass on, not a Pakistani wicket where there’s cracks every centimetre.

 

“We’re talking about grass covered wicket where you have to do something else to alter the shape, the roughness of the ball on the one side. You have to get the one side wetter, heavier than the other side.

 

“Australian teams getting reverse swing before the 30th over, they had to do something. If you use cricket ball and scratch it against a normal iron or steel gate or anything, anything steel on it, it reverse swings immediately. That’s the kind of extra alteration you need to do.’’

My question is Lehmann did not start this on his own, he must have learnt it during his playing days.Steve Waugh and Ponting along with Warne and Mcgrath were also involved in ball tampering in their playing days?? Clarke was acting all holy but this the same guy who refused to walk after edging to slips in 2007-08.

Not walking after edging is no way cheating. Lot of batsman from all teams wait for the decision. Heck, they even wait nowadays for edges even in days of DRS. If it is cheating a lot of players are cheaters. 

 

Ball tampering has been allegedly going on since decades. However, only Faf Duplesis was suspended for one match and this Australian players wee proved to have tampered ball.  But in no ways this are the only two incidents of ball tampering in 100+ years of cricket.  Many must be going on unnoticed in matches which had less number of cameras. it would be wrong to take names for the sake of taking them.

I completely understand your point. I always believed Aussies played hard but they played fair.They always pushed the limits as far as slegding goes but I found that acceptable.

But I also find it hard to beileve that this ball tampering just started under Steve Smith's regime only.It is like Pakistan team every Pakistani bowler while coming thru ranks knows about reverse swing and how to tamper the ball to get it to reverse.These things are generally are passed down from seniors to juniors.

I cannot agree that Lehmann had no idea what was going on along with bowlers.

Ball on SENA countries usually swings till lunch.. so these guys must have started tampering straight away after lunch..
