Was this Australian team good enough?? Shane Warne shares some eye opening numbers about their bowling

Apart from Pujara, Agarwal and Kohli, the others in top 6 did struggle vs the Aus bowling line up .... If Pujara for e.g. did not click, who knows these bowlers would have been a different cup of tea

In LOIs, one person can win you a game as the time to comeback is minimal. In tests, you usually need a team effort, which is both bowlers and batsmen delivering. Pujara did the batsmen's work almost single handedly, and bowlers did their job as a group (though Bumrah, Shami and Kuldeep (5-er in one inning he bowled in), were the bowling leaders

Mathematically: Pujara (representing the batsmen) + Bowlers

well pujara n others were the missing puzzle in SA n ENG....said that time to if pujara, rahane also contributes with kohli series result can be diff. Pujara contributed big time , rahane was ok but it was compensated with mayank n pant stepping up

In SA, Pujara scored a 50 in the test we won, and was run out in one of the tests (under pressure to unnecessarily score quickly)  .... In Eng, was actually dropped in the 1st test and came back (under pressure) to avg 40 in demanding conditions while batting in the top order

As much as this Aus batting line up was weak, the bowling was right up there, and credit to Indian batsmen for weathering the early storm and grinding them down

I think after 1 session  in 1st Test, most of thought, f3ck  me...these Aussie bowlers are gonna eat India up in the series with pace, bounce and Lyon

Will you give credit to Indian bowlers instead of saying they were bad? I don't they are bad batsmen. Bowling was top class.

Shaun Marsh, Finch, Mitch Marsh, Handscomb, Head are all pretty avg batsman. Only Khawaja was good against pace but then he is walking wicket against spin.

Stats (Last 4 years)

Marsh bros have been pathetic. Avg of 33 in last 4 year is pretty poor for Shaun marsh who should have been lead batsman. Except Khawaja (who missed many Asian matches against spin) no one is good in their side. Actually in last 4 years i don't remember any of their batsman winning them game other than smith. Khawaja and Warner did score some runs but were pretty avg in overseas.

This was what happened to us in the past, bowlers were decent batters didn't put enough runs.Aussie bowlers r good among top 3 bowling attack easily but batters ok'ish and our bowling ,batting was great

No team is bad at home among top test countries.  You will have to do really well and play hard to beat a home team. Our batsmen countered their bowling well and our bowlers kept the pressure on.  All these batsmen have 100 in test cricket.  None of them scoring 100 in a 4 test series is phenomenal showing by our bowlers.

Warne is a good commentator regarding tactics. He was the first one who questioned their impact in this test series. Even Gilly is good because he mentions the past year being good for bowlers and their bowlers were not good enough. But the other guy Craddock takes the easy way out by saying "they were too afraid too shine the ball". Thats ok. But what did they do with the new ball then. Give credit to India, Pujara and Bumrah you stupid f0ck. Aussies are sore losers.

They bowled the line which they did because Indian players especially Rahane, Pujara and Kohli were in their head right from the start of the tour and hence they wanted to bowl them outside off and not on the stump to get them driving in the hope they will fall to the carrot.

So the stat which Shane Warne shares is correct but that comes because of intentional plan of the Aussies. It worked for them earlier in the first test but from their on it did not.

Kohli and Pujara have improved their game od playing with soft hands too so not much will carry tot he slips.  Too bad for them that they will have to wait few more years to have a crack and Indian players again at their home.

We are keeping the trophy for a while now.

Aussie batting is pathetic without Warner and smith. Even khawaja their only hope averages 42.  :phehe:.  Specially when cummins is your best batsman.

Year our bowling has been top class in last 1 year in all overseas tour we did maybe if batsman would have supported bowlers more then there was chance in Eng/SA series too.
