vvvslaxman Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 At a time when India is looking for free style hitters, how come they tried talents like this in any format. It was cringeworthy seeing Dhoni batting in our T20 team. Infact whole ODI team should not have played. He absolutely obliterates spin. India's biggest problem these days have been dominating the spinners. Infact we struggle against spinners in all formats. Plays excellent pull shots against pace bowling. beetle, Mosher and UrmiSinhaRay 1 2

Most of the teams don't play "top level" spinners. We struggle against part timer spinners like Maxwell. And average ODI spinner like Lyon. Ridgepi and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1

Aggarwal did that in first innings of a test. Lyon troubled us mostly in our second innings. You can't compare two different innings played on completely different pitches. Even by second innings, pitches deteriorate. Comparison in the first place is false. Aggarwal's way of handling a spinner is tukka. You can't always get away by just attacking a spinner out and Lyon is world class at what he does that is utilizing the rough outside off. Being an opener, Aggarwal doesn't have to tackle rough in the first innings. Ridgepi 1
