vvvslaxman Posted June 17, 2019 Author Posted June 17, 2019 I repeat it is all about style. Not substance as those guys had a long career. They were not without flaws. Let us not go there. Current top 3 are gorgeous to watch when in full flight. We saw a glimpse against Pakistan. I know KL Rahul can even better .
vvvslaxman Posted June 17, 2019 Author Posted June 17, 2019 When you add SUbhman Gill to this line up this is going to be a spectacle for all the cricket lovers.
zen Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 If blocking balls and getting beaten due to slight movement is attractive to watch, more batsmen can be added to the list

vvvslaxman Posted June 17, 2019 Author Posted June 17, 2019 (edited) To digress Rahul Dravid was kind of a guy who would get furious when he mistimes and edges to slip lol He set very high standard. Rahul Dravid's classic batting is more prevalent in the Test matches. Especially the falling over on drive still remains unmatched. It is such a gorgeous signature shot of Dravid Edited June 17, 2019 by vvvslaxman prasen82 1
The Realist Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 Also have to factor in the quality/intensity of the bowling they were facing and in that respect Tendulkar, Ganguly & Dravid win hands down. Dravid in full flow was a super elegant player caressing the ball to the boundary with timing rather than power. vvvslaxman and Switchblade 2

prasen82 Posted June 17, 2019 Posted June 17, 2019 (edited) Dravid fanboy here.... Dravid Dravid Dravid... Elegance elegance elegance.. The on drive was majestic.. so was the pull shot. Dravid would be my number 4 for all time Indian ODI. Sachin, Sehwag/Rohit, kohli, dravid, yuvraj, dhoni, kapil, kumble, zaheer, bumrah, kuldeep Edited June 18, 2019 by prasen82
Pandya_Power Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 Can't wait for Shubnam to join the party. He should be our #4 till kohli calls it a day. I know he prefers to open, but he needs to adapt in order to make the XI. On topic, I feel the current 3 are more pleasing on the eye as well as more effective (priarily beacuse of their ability against the short ball). Ganguly and to an extent Dravid never really took on the short ball. Nass on commentary also mentioned how teams can't bully these 3 with bouncers. They ahve plaeyd some amazing pulls / hooks. Only Sachin from the prev gen did that.
Ajju Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 Only KL Rahul not only in india but now worlds most stylish right now bahubali 1
Stan AF Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 Tendulkar Ganguly and Dravid were more elegant. I consider Tendulkar as one of the most elegant batsmen. But even he was sometimes 2nd to the likes of Ganguly silken smooth drives and Yuvrajs off drives.
