vijay50
Rohit, Mayank, Kohli, Pant, Jadhav (6 th bowler), Dhoni, Pandya, Bhuvi, Bumrah, Shami, Chahal. This is my lineup for todays match and SF. Jadeja can play instead of Bhuvi, then Kuldeep ( to neutralize left hand bat) comes in place of Chahal .. Link to comment
lotlil
Sending Dhoni in at #4 will ensure Kohli gets out within 5 overs after that. He should come in at #5. Mayank needs to open and KLR should come at #4. And after the world cup the selectors need to be fired. Pandya_Power 1 Link to comment
asterix
Mayank Rohit Virat Rahul Pant Hardik Mahendra Ravindra/Kuldeep Bhuvneshwar (will bat ahead of Kuldeep) Yazuvendra Jaspreet So the batting is bit deep and only 5 bowlers... I hope Mayank can bowl couple of overs part time, if required... Edited July 6, 2019 by asterix Link to comment

Pandya_Power
Jadeja averages 43 with the ball and 16 with the bat since 2017 in ODIs. Keep him away from the XI. Great substitute though! Sgattick10 1 Link to comment

srh08
Today's team is close to the worst combination, possible. Shami, Chahal, Mayank (our 2nd and 3rd best wicket takers after Bumrah, and a solid bat) sitting out for DK, Jadeja, Kuldeep! Looks like Mayank will not play in KOs. Keeping that in mind, the bowling should be Pandya Jadeja (unfortunate but Kuldeep is not in form) Bumrah Shami Bhuvi Chahal Yoda-esque 1 Link to comment

srh08
Pant does not look like a No. 4. He should come at 6 and Pandya at 5, Dhoni 7. After today's match, who do you think the No. 4 batsman and bowlers should be? One of Jadhav/DK/Jadeja - Jadeja will bat at 7, the other two should bat at 4. Bowling (pick our best 4 bowlers, bowling is our strength, do not weaken it to cover up our weakness) - Bumrah, Shami, Chahal, Bhuvi That 7th batsman/6th bowler/No.4 is the issue - Vijay Shankar fit into all those roles. Among the 3 options, its a toss up between Jadhav/Jadeja. If you want a No.4, pick Jadhav. If you pick Jadeja, will Pant be still No. 4? Should Pandya/Dhoni bat up? daryl1985
Rohit, KL, Virat, Pant, Dhoni, KKD, Hardik, Jaddu, Kuldeep, Bhuvi (or Shami) and Bumrah. Hardik a floater, send up the order if run-rate gets high early on or if batting 1st and well placed to explode. If there is a wicket when the spinner is bowling or due to bowl, would send him in then as he can score heavily against them. Link to comment
SRT100
Hitman KL Kohli Pant Pandya Karthik Dhoni Jadeja Shami Chahal Bumrah Spin is what killed NZ the last time we played them on their pitches. Kuldeep and Chahal. The Jadeja/Chalal will be just as effective. Shami must be bowled out before the 40th over. 5 bowlers in Bumrah Shami Pandya Jaddu and Chalal. Batting we can bat down to number 8 with Jaddu. Hitman/KL must show respect to Boult who broke India into two pieces in the 4th ODI in NZ earlier this year. Once they see him through they can attack the rest. Link to comment
diehardpacer
6th bowler is a must in Semis or finals. In case, any bowler gets injured, there should be cover. Jadeja over Jadhav any day. Jadhav has been terrible with the bat too. So,DK has to miss out. Dhoni should bat at 7.Anywhere above that will result in below par score or a botched chase. Shami is a must.Finish his spell before 45th over.Which means 1/2 out of Bhuvi,Kuldeep & Chahal can play.If only 1 of them gets in,then DK can play as extra batsman, which means only 5 bowlers. If openers bat above 30 overs, then Pant & Pandya should be promoted ahead of Kohli at 3,4. Final team: KL Rohit Kohli Pant Pandya Jadeja/DK Dhoni DK/Bhuvi/Kuldeep/Chahal Bhuvi/Kuldeep/Chahal Shami Bumrah ThePhenomenal1 1 Link to comment

I'd continue with Pant at #4. You cant judge him based on this innings, cos the game was done & dusted. Pant is a more capable batsmen than MSD, Pandya, DK and Jadeja. diehardpacer 1 Link to comment

LOL, it was redundant from the very beginning. Even if Aus won as assumed, this thread was of ZERO significance to the Indian players or the team management or the selectors or the Indian population or even to the majority of ICFers except the few participants of this thread, for whom it obviously would have helped a little by making their egos feel slightly better with an illusion of control.
