Should beweda ( R.Shastri) continue as A head coach After world cup or not ??

His laissez-faire approach has yielded results.  We may all want a genius (??) or head-master (AK) or some sanskaari dude (RD) as a coach for the Indian team, but facts are these:  the bowling is the best it's ever been, the batting is generally solid and most importantly, the W's far far outweigh the L's.

Personally, I am not a fan of RJS, but the results speak for themselves.

To be fair we won against Australia ran South Africa very close in tests. Coach doesn’t make much sense in Indian cricket or even world cricket. Probably cricket needs a sports psychologist more than a coach.

Coach has a very important role to play.

What are you talking about? We won against Warner/Smith less Oz, lost against SA when we were in a with a fair chance to beat them especially in the 2nd test, got absolutely demolished on England! Both Oz & SA are nowhere near the team they used to be & yet we only won a single series, mainly on the back of Pujara! The team that Kohli's supposedly carrying on his own would be demolished if Oz had any of their ATGs in! He's given no confidence to batters, constant chopping & changing - **** tactics, during series/match & then making stupid statements like this is the best Indian side touring abroad? Do I count more :hitler:

Bottom line is - they beat the guys who were in front of them.  How those teams used to be and whether we would've beaten SPDS/DW is all speculation.  The Ozzies dug their own grave.  We shoved them in it.  Rest is speculation.  Could India have been a better team?  Of course.  But they are a damn good one and the TM deserves a modicum of credit.

Also, Pujara did not take 20 wkts in those matches.  The bowlers did and they have thrived under this TM and have matured into a world-class unit.  Again, credit where credit is due.

What are you talking about, wtf did Ganguly's team full of batting superstars  do when they faced Australia without Mcgrath and Warne in 2003-04. They lost to bowling lineup of Nathan Bracken,Brad Williams and hit me for four every over Stuart Mcgill along with unfinished Bret Lee who had no clue what he was doing then that too after Sehwag gave them a blistering start.

Kohli would have won the series without Smith and Warner 3-1 if not for rain.Would they have won with them who knows but they have done far better than overrrated  fab four era.

we lost against SA in SA, whereas SL (of all teams) pulled off a clean sweep. The only major difference was the absence of ABDV. In both Eng and SA, bad team selection and inability to win crucial moments hurt us badly. Some part of the blame clearly has to go to Bewda and VK.

Yes stick with him, at this level India is professional enough that it doesn't really a coach but a cheer leader and good motivational talker.

He has been elemental in changing Indian bowling culture and bring back that aggressiveness that was missing in Indian cricket untill Fletcher left. He's bevda but he can handle his drink and that's what matters.

To be fair, Ab wasn't only difference but 'the' difference.  We had SA on floor ik first test untill he came and started smacking Bhuvi over the infield. It's like he just came out of retirement just to deny us our first ever SA series win.

Yes the team selection could've been better.

It’s not that easy.. The seniors in the team including captain Kohli want him... He allows them the freedom they need. As long as players are happy, comfortable and winning, why would BCCI change the coach?

As long as Kohli is captain, Bewda not going anywhere...

That’s may be true, and if India goes on to win the WC then removing him might not be possible. But, India’s selection for this World Cup was messed up evident from the call up of Rishab and Mayank. As the coach he needs to take responsibility for India’s middle order issues. It isn’t for the lack of talent we have middle order issues.

If ABDV was not playing for SA when we played them, we would have clean swept them. He was that important. He was the catalyst against Australia too for SA.
