It was surely nipping and there was moisture, clouds so not totally easy conditions. Ofcourse not most difficult as well but the way crowd went after him and this is his comeback innings so surely deserves some credit.

No anderson though.

Its amazing that Siddle is still going at it fairly well enough. I remember how good he was against the Big 3 almost a decade ago. Hopefully our paces show such long legs

Yes Smith is a more gritty than virat, but to say that virat's  has been shyte here is really disappointing, yes he chokes in Odis tournaments, but the man has shown his spine in t20 knockouts, even in England last year we faced a far potent attack in aandu , woakes ,curren and barby on far lively pitches ,yes he got chances, but then Smith too was given out ,people here who are downplaying Anderson's absence forgets that Anderson is called clouderson for a reason and has been a vital cog in England's dominance in last 10 series in England, guy can do unimaginable things with ball and make mockery of the best of techniques,so to not only survive but score 500 runs against a rampaging English attack which includes a vily and fit Anderson is no mean feat,i think we are criticising virat's the batter for the failures of virat the captain, yes he has an abysmal record in Odi knockouts but you can't get everything, nobody is perfect no body was nobody will be, guy has performed in all sena countries time and time again what more do you ask,yes he is a terrible captain ,and has made his fair share of mistakes, same way Smith did,if bilaterals are so meaningless, whats the use of touring and inviting teams ,let's just play wc and ipl .

Biggest strength of England in odis is their biggest weakness in tests. You need specialists in tests, these bits and pieces players will not work.

who is bits n pieces in England ?
