Pant averages 43.5 with the bat after 16 tests.

6 scores of 89 + ... 4 such scores in SENA.

And the sample size is not small at all.

How was he being compared to Afridi !!!!

Most importantly he avg 73 in 4th innings of a test match , add to that avg of 62 in Aus facing starc, cummins, lyon, hazelwood

Pre mature ejaculation , ppl get that with most youngsters .

Now it’s a insult to Pant to be compared to a cheat and a hack. Although when Afridi first came on the scene, he could bat quite a bit.

This lmao. Hahaha. Already a. Future ATG. Being compared to that fodder dud called Shahid.

Afridi has different style similar to Sehwag but he was not consistent.

Afridi and Sehwag are not similar batsman. Sehwag's hand eye coordination is of legendary proportion. He single handedly changed the conventional wisdom that you can't be successful in Tests without having proper technique and footwork against fast bowling.

Afridi is more about brute power as opposed to timing or technique. Even mishits used to go for sixes at times, partly similar to Andre Russell in that regard , either miss or hit. Afridi's main value was as a all round player who used to run through his overs very fast, was a really good fielder by the then standards of Pakistani cricket and handy with the bat for some quick runs. But purely as a batsman Sehwag is miles ahead of Afridi.

These are extremely poor and stupid comparisons that shows  ignorance of technique . This thread shoud be posted in the daily jokes section,

It won't take more than a few balls for me to say Pant is a batsman and Afridi is no batsman,

Afridi had near zero technique when he first came in, He improved to a sort of basic technique. but he had to rely on eye, ball striking  and high risk.He

had no real technique to fall back on.

“For the last 15 years, Afridi has maintained a particular style. He has no technique. He watches the ball and goes to hit it big,” said Akram while talking to local media in Karachi.

No technique is an exaggerration but very weak technique yes.,

If you compare him to any batsman, i have no reason to  care about your opinions on cricket, You have no clue.

Pant gets out in some stupid way in a bunch of ODIs or T20Is and you will go missing from this thread.
