Have faith in Rishabh Pant like you did with Rohit Sharma

agree.. however Pant has some different kind of bat swing , arc and finish when hitting, noticeable when he hits on the off side.. reminds me a bit of Roelof Van de Merwe

Pant has to develop more allround game, he is limited stroke wise, he is getting caught trying to hit over extra cover.Bowlers will keep bowling him wide and if possible he has to play reverse sweep to counter it.

Definitely not true. They even played him as a specialist bat over other promising youngsters in the world cup.   Rohit has supported him. Kohli has supported him. Just some DHoni fans probably chanted Dhoni's name That shouldn't bother him should it?

Was any youngster publicly criticized in the past ?how do you justify that?

Some dulded folks here think Rohit only got regular chances from 2013 onwards

I think he missed watching cricket post 2011 WC,when we were building  the core for 2015 and yes talks about range of strokes Pant has

I guess he wants to quickly pounce upon the " Talent" debate

      He is getting out as he tries to hit a six every time for such deliveries and he does not figure out change of pace by bowlers 

      He should giving importance to boundaries on off side .

      1)    for wide of off stump -  develop square cut or cover drive of back foot . 

       2)   Play between mid off to point  to get boundaries  by waiting deep in the crease . this will help him to make out change of pace and since he is not hitting in the air every time , less chance of getting out.  

       3)    There is no need to over hit . He has enough power . Just  maintain balance while playing the shots , planting the front foot firmly .      

 

         I think Pooran is great template  for him to emulate re: shot making . Apart from above improvements on off side , he should try playing most  of the shots from long on to straight mid wicket  even on the on side rather than hoicks every time on the on side .  The powerful  pulls /swats of  Pooran  to mid wicket can be very good addition to Pant's game as he is  not hitting up , yet he will get boundaries .

        For shortish balls on body he already has a good shot  to fine leg , long leg .

Dhoni had the habit to embarrass his bowlers,yes he did,

Umesh had played good amount of cricket before that

Pant has barely started,what was the purpose of dropping him from tests where he did nothing wrong?

Dhoni criticism came in odi for umesh...where he still is out of team.

 

Now ??? He always bowled well in india even under dhoni. Ind- eng 2012 1st test he was bowling beautifully and he got injured. 

 

Umesh is yet tick his problem areas like perfomance outside india or LOI cricket

also we need to drop Jadhav and play SKY in his place asap in both the formats.   Shreyas Iyer should be encouraged to bowl those 2 or 3 overs when required.

to add to that , Raina had the luxury of playing with Yuvi and MSD..  focus and expectations were always on those two.

Sky doesnt bowl....chucking issue. Sky can only be given chance in t20 as of now.

 

Iyer bowling shud kept a distant dream ....if they wanna start very slowly....part timers hardly work today. Even the likes of joe root n jadhav had uniqueness about their bowling....root has developed 2-3 variations and bowls a good carrom ball.
