Sanju manju was noting that the top 3 have played 70+ innings in their respective positions since 2015 in ODI's. But the maximum any player has played in #4 is rayudu who has played only 14 knocks in that position and dropped thereafter.

70+ for each of them, right? This stat shows so much about why only top 3 are consistent.

Australia has stuck with Zampa as No. 1 ODI bowler, despite some ordinary performances...so he's developed confidence that he belongs, and now he keeps coming at you, even if he gets hit in some over. He doesn't have any special delivery, just good control. No batting or fielding talent to speak of either  Here, we broke an uber-successful KulCha pair just on a whim, to strengthen lower order batting (needed, because of middle order muddle), and now both Kuldeep and Chahal look unsure about their bowling.

Kohli was once adamant to have all 5 wicket takers in his loi line up but offlate got tempted to have lower order bowling allrounders who are always left redundant

If Kuldeep is outbowled by an Aussie spinner in our own backyard it would be shameful

The pitches arent gonna help his confidence to deliver though.

It feels weird as an aussie witnessing an india team who is more afraid of spinners than we are.

We have only ever had a couple of good spinners in our whole history. And have never been good at playing them.

The current indian fear of spin really does baffle me. I just dont get it.

Kohli seems to have 'bhoolne ki bimaari'. he learnt his lesson from CT17 loss that defensive spinners with some batting/fielding ability are < attacking spinners in this day & age of 325+ scores. But 1 year later, after great success interspersed with few matches where attacking spinners went for runs (defensive spinners wld likely have gone for same or worse in those matches), he lost confidence in the strategy and decided to hedge his bets with 1 attacking & 1 defensive spinner per match. Worse, now's he unsure of who his no. 1 attacking spinner is, so both Kuldeep and Chahal bowl with added pressure every time they get a chance.
