Well no comparison here. Sachin was one of the best technically equipped player India has ever produced. The guy averaged 40+ in Tests in every country he played in. A record which none of his contemporaries can claim including Lara, Sanga, Waugh, Ponting etc.

Not many openers have succeeded with that high backlift like Shaw or Sehwag in SENA.Look at Pujara and how close to the body he is playing , I know Shaw is new but I doubt he will succeed as an opener in these conditions.

Southee has been horrible and it is sad that Shaw gifted him a wicket. That was the only ball Southee probably bowled on the right line and length.

NZ's bowling has been poor. Bumrah and Ishant would have picked up 2 - 3 wickets on this pitch till now.

you are right,they have been poor for a while now.they got manhandled in australia and they just gave up.

Now comes the challenge. CDG is much difficult bowler to face on these wickets. Southee was just helping the Indian batters to settle.
