Both parties interests will vary and depend on who is President at that time, and what interests will India serve for them. That being said, for America historically, Democrats have done well for their country , while Republicans have a very poor track record. While I am not a fan of the radical tax-and-spend left or the cancel-culture touting antifas, I find it laughable that Indians think Trump or the current version of the Republican party is in any way interested in protecting India's interests. Right now, Trump is just playing up to the anti-Muslim sentiment that is brewing in India (ya know, enemy's enemy is a friend) and many Indians are lapping it up. Of course, there are a number of Indian-Americans (over 70%) for whom it is fashionable to be part of the elitist left, and are now enamored of Kamala Harris simply because they think she "represents" them in some way. It's time for a 3rd party to become prominent in America. Low tax, pro-immigration, pro-science libertarians. Guys like Justin Amash who speak the truth, but are not charismatic and cannot whip up the masses are what this country needs. As a resident unkil, I don't see it happening in my life-time. Scary part is that he may even succeed. 4 years ago, while I did not vote for DJT, I defended people who did vote for him especially in the midwest swing states because it was clear that the Democrats had neglected this blue-collar, working class community.
