NRR only matters if you are first able to compete with #4 placed team on points so with a better NRR you can jump to #4   .... Similarly for #2-3 placed teams, if they are equal on points, to play the “qualifier”

If you are placed at 6-7-8 on points, NRR does not matter. To get points, your first priority should be to fight till the end to win the game. If you are giving up by the 15-16th over and start playing for NRR, you may struggle to get points (as similar scenario may repeat in other games)

NRR will decide whether CSK ends up at 7 or 8.

Big thing for CSK and cricbuzz.

Bombay, Delhi are certain to go through. Bangalore and Calcutta look for a tight finish at 3 and 4. Madras and Rajasthan are looking at missing out on the play off spots regardless of NRR. Hyderabad and Punjab are happily chilling and competing for the last spot.

Its not NRR obsession, its the Dhoni obsession. Never seen an organization being a fan of someone like this.

So the usual trick of CSK playing for NRR trying to shield a village level garbage performance.
