Big difference is batting talent available to Kohli.

He created this bowling attack, so stop this nonsense that Kohli’s captaincy is at fault when he is saddled with batsmen who cannot bat when they see hint of swing.

Btw no one has stopped kohli from dropping dead weights like rahane and debut gill/iyer. He could have tried them in home season last year and we would have had a reliable no. 5 by now. He could have dropped jadhav, dhoni before the wc and tried new middle order players. Again his own short sighted ness is to be blamed here for lack of batting talent. Even now he is not selecting Sky instead of Pandey in T20s which mught cost us in next two t20 wcs

His arrogance and attitude  was tolerated because he used to score runs in every format.Now, he sucks in every department.Was never a good leader.

His mantra of - Strike rate being more important in test and Solidity important in LOI is worry-some

He did drop Rahane in 2018 in SA and whole forum went nuts as if Rahane would have won that series.

 

And you are bloody assuming that Gill and Iyer  who came into picture in late 2019 would be better than Rahane.

A middle order batsman averaging 42 is very poor for Indian Batting Standard.
