I have just one more episode (the final) to go for “the pack” .... initially it appeared slow/bland but I stuck with it to find it pick up and become interesting esp. once I began to connect with the dogs more. The teams travel to various cities for challenges (the team finishing last gets eliminated in each episode). I have visited many of these cities/countries so it was good to revive the memories esp. due to travel restrictions/precautions now

Yeah the Douglas one

would love to buy it on 4k. One of my fav films by Fincher.

By the way since you are a 4k enthusiast bought Lucy  (sca jo) and Casino (scorcesse) and Back to the future triology this Black Friday.  The others because they are classics and my fav movie but Lucy is great on 4k, check it out.

I have seen Lucy and Casino in 4K. Not too much into BTTF but part 3's disc is rated high on PQ .... If you are relatively new to 4K, note the following:

  • Do not blind buy 4K UHDs (unless your favorite film). Watch/read the review first on PQ as not every 4K disc is created equal
  • A high end TV is required to take full advantage of HDR/Dolby Vision (as it is about contrast and wider color gamut too, not just 4k resolution)
  • TV setting need to be optimized/calibrated. For basic settings, you can use the THX app (available for free)
  • Good quality HDMI cable
  • Quality 4K UHD player. Generally, folks prefer Panasonic (some folks use Xbox and PS5 too but still may not be like dedicated players)
  • A decent to great sound system if you like audio as one of the key features of a 4K UHD disc (over 4K streaming) is audio quality (sometimes picture quality on a 4K disc and streaming can be close esp. for films shot on digital)

If you want recommendation for top 4K discs based on PQ, let me know

I have a 4k player on my Xbox. I just bought them because they were on sale and they are good movies that I can add to my collection . I am more of an audiophile (not danda Roy) like picky on ones that support Dolby atmos sound quality than a visual guy but of course 4 k is 4 k but sure you can recommend me some good ones.

I do not know your favorites so pick and choose from below from the many that I own or have heard good reviews.  The ones in blue are the ones that I own too (more into restored films):

Shot on film (so a new restoration can be a big upgrade over blu-ray):

  • Suspiria (1977) - one of the expensive discs as the restoration is done by an independent studio (Synapse films). But both the video and audio are brilliant
  • The Shining
  • 2001 A Space Odyssey
  • Spartacus
  • Apocalypse Now
  • Leon the Professional
  • The Mask of Zorro (soundtrack)
  • Mission Impossible 4 (IMAX sequences look great!)
  • Braveheart
  • The Patriot
  • Mad Max (1980)
  • Batman
  • Matrix
  • Blade Runner
  • Black Hawk Down (soundtrack)
  • Bram Stoker's Dracula (for colors and HDR)
  • Hannibal
  • Jaws
  • Schindler's List (B&W)
  • Psycho (B&W)
  • 300

I also own many superhero films like Wonder Woman, most of MI series, Gladiator, other Matrix films (came in the collection), Nolan films like Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, The Bridge of River Kwai, The Murder of Orient Express, Darkest Hour, Allied, Diehard, Parasite, The Girl in the Spider's Web, Scorpion King, cartoons/animes like Coco, Gotham by Gaslight, etc., which are also good if you are a fan of these films

Shot on digital:

  • Seven Worlds One Planet (must have for many. Also Blue Planet 2 and Planet Earth 2 if you want more)

New/relatively new releases will be good including Joker, Aquaman, Dunkirk, Tenet (coming soon), Bad Boys for Life, Gemini Man, John Wick 2 & 3, Pacific Rim, Skyfall, Blade Runner 2049, 1917, The Greatest Showman, Justice League, The Revenant, Mad Max Fury Road, etc.

Available in collection

  • Columbia Classic (6 films): Lawrence of Arabia, Gandhi, Dr Strangelove, Mr Smith Goes to Washington, A League of their own, and Jerry Maguire
  • Alfred Hitchcock Collection (4 films): Rear Window, Vertigo, The Birds, and Psycho

On the wishlist: Chernobyl, Tenet (coming soon) and Lupin 3: Castle of Cagliostro (coming in Jan 2021), V for Vendetta in future, 300 and Apocalypse Now  :dontknow:

Do not buy list (from the top of the mind recall, there are of course more):

  • Terminator 2
  • Bourne Identity
  • Star Wars films except may be the Last Jedi
  • Goodfellas (unless you have a high end TV)
  • Jurassic Park
