Let's say, a worst case scenario happens in Australia( say a 0-3 or even 0-4), we're doomed right away. No point in even beating england 5-0 at this point because it would be like 480/720. And I'm assuming other teams(NZ) would be better than us at that time.

 

So again I reiterate we HAVE TO WIN 2 games against Australia to be comfortable.

Our chances to qualify depend on pakistan and wi's performance. 

If they are able to draw even a single match we will surely qualify. Its just a matter of 1 draw. 

Hopefully newzealand 's weather will help us.

India has to win more than 504 points to get past 70% in the remaining games. Only two likely scenarios will get them past that point.

 

1-3 against Australia and 5-0 against England or 2-2 against Australia and 4-1 against England. So they need to win atleast one game against Aus.

You guys dont get it and never will. India will not win a game against Australia this summer. Australia have been primed and waiting for this revenge.

 

NZ are an above average Test team in NZ and they absolutely destroyed India. Australia will do the same.

Heck we were better away from home. We smashed the Windies whereas they only tied the series in Sri Lanka. 

 

Why should we compare ourselves to how NZ have performed? A tiny cricketing board with limited resources vs a cricketing giant at its strongest flush with money. If despite all this richness of resources, even now we cannot win a test in Aus and have to depend on home wins, then we don't deserve to be in the finals.

 

In any case, Kiwis have been bette than us in the last 2-3 years, a win vs Pakistani in UAE and a draw in SL are immense achievements for non-Asian teams (equivalent to us winning/drawing in SA/NZ)

Bro its not that easy. 

All depends on conditions, Indian batsman are a lot better on pitches with true bounce than they are against swing and seam. 

Also in that nz series our best 2 players failed spectacularly, not happening again.

Nz in nz is a very good team. Those wkts were spongy which our batsman dnt enjoy but australian wkts are true for batting,having said that yea we aint winning
