Not a bad idea .... "away" in the worst case, if Ind loses 0-4 in Aus, it would go down to 60% .... then "at home" in the best case, if Ind wins 5-0 v Eng, it would go up to 67%

If newzealand whitewashes wi and pak in next two series, they will be at 70% and will go to final.

If India wants to qualify, it has to win at least one match or draw atleast two matches in the Australian series

Yes, NZ’s % is expected to go up .... I mainly focused on Ind’s worst case away & best case at home .... all teams in contention including Eng will have to play well

TBH if we can't even a test vs Aus in Aus, then based only on home wins, we do not deserve to be in the WTC finals.

India will probably beat Aus in Aus.

Giving 120 points to NZ was criminal.  Missed a swing bowler in 2nd test.  Umesh was pathetic.  Their openers took the game away & Jamieson with both bat & ball.  We played like minnows there.  Also doesn't look like NZ tour of BD will happen so NZ is almost confirmed to go through.

What if we lose to Australia 3-1 and beat England 4-0? Do we stand a chance?

No. Since NZ is almost confirmed to whitewash west Indies and pakistan, they'll be at 70% by the end of their campaign.

3-1 & 0-4 will give us 494/720 .. 68%. If it comes to that though, I'm sure BCCI will prepare turning pitches to force 5-0 wash. Winning atleast one match in Australia should be the team's biggest priority now

Can't see any scenario where in India could be at 70% after the Aussie series. To be at 70%, we need to win at least 2 test matches there. A 1-1 draw would give us what 410 points(??), still less than 70%

I will be shocked if we are one of the finalists unless we beat some dibbly dobbly teams like WI, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and at home against SENA to get there.

Why ? Did you see how NZ faired in Australia? How do they deserve the final spot more than us when they too are dependent only on their home wins.?

Heck we were better away from home. We smashed the Windies whereas they only tied the series in Sri Lanka.

We also have the home series against England.

I honestly think the best we can do is to lose 1-3 in Australia and win 4-0 vs England.

So, it means we can only pray for NZ to lose one game against either of Pak or WI.

Very easy schedule for NZ this cycle: away in BD, SL, Aus...Aus they always lose anyway

For us: WI, Aus, NZ

NZ won't do well next cycle.

We have to atleast draw a Test in Australia and hope that either poyzz or the Windies draw atleast one test against NZ. A win would be even better.

And then do what we do best at home against England. We'll be comfortably through.

That drawn away series in SL certainly helped.  Also they got a easier schedule this time.  BD tour also didn't happen..  Not sure it'd have mattered but still the percentage scenario helps them massively.

More than everything else, the england series not being counted in WTC helped them a lot. If it was counted, they would have lost valuable 40 points from a home series and pretty much out by now.
