I still rate India's effort back in 03-04 much better, when they drew in Australia v Australia the test series. That was Australia's best side.

Kohli had the perfect opportunity to beat Australia in Australia without Warner and Smith.

Point taken but that wasn't their best side. Mcgrath and Warne werent playing. The team that toured India in 01 and 04 were much better

It can get worse.

If Finch and Warner both score 100 in same match, expect a 400 plus total.

If this was a 5 ODI series, Australia would have eventually scored 500 in a game.

I dont think one current Indian player would get a game in Australia's BBL T20 comp. Maybe Pandya.

India had Warne's measure. McGrath yes.

Maxwell in IPL 2020 - 108(106) with 9 fours and 0 sixes.
Maxwell in first 2 ODI - 108(48) with 9 fours and 7 sixes.

Well, that team didn't have McGrath and Warne. But the batting was full strength, so definitely a better team than the one missing Smith and Warner.

KL can do this too if he bats with a free, uncluttered mind. He was amazing in NZ

 did i miss smthng?

Edit -  read it as Kohli instead of KL

I used to love when Kohli was humiliated and abused, he would come out and be aggressive with batting and fielding.

The coward now smiles and shakes hands. This is not the captain I want for India.

I give it to India for dismantling Australia twice in Adelaide after Ponting's double. But still that side didn't have Warne and McGrath. But fair play. Better than 2018 for sure.

We won’t score 250..

Correct.

I stated this earlier in the game.

Australia should win this game by the 20th over. I expect India to be around 4/100 again. Effectively game over.

if they keep wickets in hand, we score 300. But winning is out of the question.

Winning?

I would be proud of this Indian side if they scored 250 tonight. In fact I would be proud if the game is still LIVE at the 30th over.

We haven’t found a six hitter in the past so many years barring Pandya and when I see NZ score card I see a Conway and Philips with sixes galore. This Glen Philips looks good. We are so behind the modern day hitting. I don’t see any upcoming youngster with the fierce hitting talent. May be our batting approach need to change and it has to come from the system and the coaches. Tuk Tuk days are long gone.

Even Aus have only the freak Maxwell and Awkward smith. Rest are all run a ball players.

I think I said the same thing. But if you keep wickets in hand, 300 is definitely possible.

Please dont compare NZ bowlers to Australia's world class. They will dismantle our top order comfortably.

Fair enough. But the Aussies batted against our clueless pie chuckers. I doubt they would be able to pull it off against a world class attack either.

India had powerful 6 hitters for years.

The problem is that when those players got too old, they kept them and didnt bring in fresh talent.

You play kids with experienced players around them.

I would back Australia's top order to hit a 6 comfortably in every innings. The same cant be said for India's top order outside India.
