First class Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Anyone can replace a player in the team, but a father has to be with his wife at the birth of his child , that too the first one.
Khota Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 This was a cheap shot by Gavaskar and this is coming from someone who is not a Kohli fan.

In both his cases, it was his choice. He could have gone when his father died, but played on in a Ranji game in 2006 to cement his place. But now, going back he might have regretted his decision back then and wants to correct.Nothing wrong. He was boasting about this just a few months back in an interview. I support his going back now ... but he should stop trying to get credit for his dedication to his team back then. 8 hours ago, coffee_rules said: Same with Nattu, he was probably given a choice and he choose to stay so he can cement his place in the team. Since I know nothing about what transpired, I will not give any opinion on this. You are just guessing what happened ... none of us know the actual facts.

asterix Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 Gavaskar had issues over players private life affecting cricket in past too. I don’t remember clearly but there was a huge issue created by Gavaskar over Kapil only bringing his wife on Sri Lanka tour, when they were playing...
coffee_rules Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 Gavaskar’s blind Mumbai biased ass failed to note when Rohit Sharma returned from the test tour missing 4th Sydney test to see the birth of his kid https://www.timesnownews.com/sports/cricket/article/india-vs-australia-rohit-sharma-to-miss-4th-test-in-sydney-to-be-with-wife-for-birth-of-first-child-report-ritika-sajdeh/339334 Khota 1
sage Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 Gavaskar still sharing the same Viv anecdote wherever he goes
putrevus Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 Gavaskar needs to be phased out from booth also, they need fresh voices there also.
The Great Punjab Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 As cricket addicts, people need to remember family is more important than playing English gulli/danda. Different people, different perspectives.
bear23 Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 Does Gavaskar know for a fact what option Natarajan will select if given an option to chose between staying on tour or going back home ? If Gavaskar had kept his comments to Kohli alone and his situation , Kohli being the captain it would be a discussion topic. Comparing Kohli to Natarajan is completely absurd as they both are not at the same place with respect to their cricketing careers
