You mention anti incumbancy but dmk retained that seat in 2011. Despite heavy anti incumbancy  during that election against then. It was the only seat in karur dmk won. Why?

Its exactly why senthil balaji was moved there.

I  am in agreement senthil balaji is a very competant politician.

See i am not saying admk have no base. But their base in that seat is much weaker than other seats in karur. Its certainly not equal with Dmk.

Because of what KCP did in 2006. He resolved the drinking water issue that was the major issue in Aravakurichi for almost 15 years.

If you do good work you will get reelected.

Senthil Balaji was moved to Aravakurichi in 2016 as a punishment by Jayalalitha. Same reason why Vaithyalingam was moved to Orathanadu.

It wasnt to strengthen the part base lol

AIADMK Thambidurai lost by more than 4 lakh votes in Karur to INC's Jothimani in 2019. She polled 63% votes. What you are saying is basically long gone.

One election result doesnt change how fundamentally strong a party base is or how strong its foundations are. ADMK won majority of seats in Chennai in 2011 . Did that mean DMK structure was gone? Same in 2014 when ADMK swept prettt much everywhere by big margin .

Also Karur Lok Sabha constituency is a lot different from Aravakurichi assembly constituency in its makeup. Karur LS has 6 Assembly constituencies in which two if them are from Trichy district . One of them Krishnarayapuram is also a reserve seat. Apart from Aravakurichi all other 5 constituencies are considered part of Central Tamil nadu. Whereas Aravakurichi is more part of Kongu belt.

Also Karur as a city is more of an export hub  and has a lot export factories and so migrant population as well.

Whereas Aravakurichi is an out and put rural constituency with Gounder being the dominant community.

So regardless of whatever result were in the last or the past elections, it doesn’t change ADMK is very strong in Aravakurichi.

 It lacks both.

If people here can understand the language and follow local news, speak to people on the ground or atleast follow Tamil Twitter, one can understand where someone like Annamalai stands. My job takes me to many interior places of Tamil Nadu and I can assure you that literally no one has heard his name in many places. And some here claim that he is the next big leader based on Some tweets from Surya. Lol :two_thumbs_up:

All I can say is, keep dreaming folks.

One of this guy's quotes

"Nobody identifies as a Hindu here,"

@velu

Lol thambi. Again shows how you know nothing about the state. It is true. You ask anyone and they will say he is a gounder, nadar, thevar, vanniyan, Iyer etc. Nobody identifies themselves as a Hindu. There is no unity among castes as a single religion, and this is what BJP is actually trying to do.

You beloved velu can confirm

In a way many dravida supporters remind me of bengalis on tripura.....

It will never happen to them, until it does...

Two gujaratis will never break through :)

There are already many Gujaratis here selling sweets. These two can also try , given that what they are selling now won't work.:phehe:

There are many Gujaratis and Marwaris which are very conservative and rooted to their traditions in Sowcarpet who run very successful businesses.

Your condescension to Gujaratis is also condescension to those who have lived and integrated in TN for centuries. Is this the Tamil culture you are trying to protect ?

To others, I would say this is not what TN is all about. Tamilians irrespective of their caste or creed, don't carry any filth in their heart.

Tamil culture is about values, devotion, humility and embrace.

Dirt finds itself. The guy with leading questions on EVR and that DMK candidate eulogizing EVR as though he did something great as MGandhi is laughable.  No need to be a Karunadu Maga to do it. Here’s what a Kannadiga wishes for a Tamilian. Need more nationalist patriots like Annamalai to change this regional mindset. Republic of South India. My foot.

All I can say is that Surya is hogging the space & the body language of Annamalai in the above video is not very encouraging.. Surya should make sure Annamalai is in the forefront and also Annamalai stands as an equal while campaigning.

So dmk building base is good work? Come on man dmk won 23 in 119 contested in 2011. Thats less than 20% strike rate. It cant all be just good work. Senthil won in 2016 on the back of aiadmk winning and in 2019 bypoll on the back of pro dmk wave.

Yes he was moved there partly as punishment and to accomodate vijaybhasker. But a part was to strengthen the party in a weak seat as well.

This is assembly poll. TN is a perfectly fine state, there is no alarming secessionist agenda as you seem to be farting all over the forum lol, its juvenile go wave your karnataka flag some where else. Bjp in its current form won't work in TN its simple, that does not make TN secessionist.

I don’t get your point . You asked how DMK won in 2011 in Aravakurichi despite anti incumbency and losing other constituencies in Karur District.

I said it’s because of what KCP (The DMK MLA then) did in Aravakurichi that is by solving the water crisis in Aravakurichi. That definitely earned him a huge amount of good will.

How will KCP work will have any impact outside Aravakurichi?

I am bit confused here.
