^ See , initially Government got it wrong. But i can vouch that Ministers in Shashtri  Bhavan genuinely worked late shifts and resolved any issue which the law had.

And it was only after that they decided for suspension of law for one and half years.

Some of the optics, especially by the likes of Sidhu, don't look that good & then there's this :whack3:

See the source image

Kohli was critisized right after this incident in the cricket forum by many of us. Sidhu did not make a policy statement but I would have just politely shook hands rather than gave a hug.

There was a time atleast when sikhs and hndu punjabis shared a language with Pakistan. After radicalization of that country under Zia in 80s there is a lot of mistrust. Being polite and trusting are two different things.

Don't blame all sikhs . What have they got to do with this?

There are sikhs living all over India peacefully who have nothing to do with this ****.

Blame the ones who have sympathy for the nri terrorists.

Besides there are non sikhs also involved like the Tikaits who are professional trouble creaters in the name of farm leaders.

The solution is to let the farmers of punjab and some from haryana and UP know that they are not some special group that deserves more than others ....whether it is respect or subsidy.

High time these guys start paying taxes . If soldiers can pay tax ...why can't these  farmers.

Tax their income. The poor farmer won't come in the tax bracket . The rich farmer bloody well pay taxes.

I agree with most of your post but not all.

farmers in Punjab and Haryana are not special but they are not making a killing either. It is all about economic equity and nothing more. Once again 10,000 rs per month is not exactly living it up.

BJP could have handled this a whole lot better butchoose not to do so.

Take your struggle and stuff it where the sun don't shine...what you have supported has resulted in riots and lowering the sanctity of a nation.

Everyone could see it coming from a mile off except assholes like you.

You mind your fricking language.

As long as income disparity is there people will protest peacefully. If you dont like peaceful protest go live in a dictatorial country like china which lot of you admire.

Not making enough money is not a reason to protest and riot.

If things are not working well enough to their liking, they should do something else....not expect the govt to help out. India is a country of poor people . What if everyone does this.

Farmers of punjab and haryana  have taken the country for granted and disrespected the country ,our capital and all Indians.

They could see what they were doing for so many years disappearing in next few and that is why they protested.

By the same token everu PSU I know is non productive, why does the govt. not start with them first instead of farmers?

Agriculture should be treated as an industry and modernized rather than being stuck in the socialist 60s.The image of Mother India with her plough has been romanticized for too long.

The middlemen should be kicked out.
Govt should not stop and should force this. They won't lose the next election. They can do without Punjab votes.

Bhai, there are many with freedom fighter bloodline in India and abroad. And for some reason, their family found it hard to oppose Congress Party and Gandhi/Nehuru family. I can understand you better now. But trust me, in UP, most people have mooved on.

When the psu's get privatised, the employees don't go rioting and disrespecting the nation by unfurling illegal flags on Redfort. The only flag that should be on redfort is the national flag.

Anyways ...psu get privatised all the time . Some are doing good and some are needed to be under govt control irrespective of profit or loss.

Besides why are only the farmers in Punjab, some in Haryana and UP protesting? Why not the farmers from the rest of India protesting? May be because their leaders are not sold to the political parties or they don't get money to protest from overseas.

The farmers of Punjab mostly and some from Haryana and UP have lost all sympathies and rightly so.

Govt us not a  buyer or seller. It us not a govt's job to do that .
