Okay..

Assume something similar like the republic day violence happened in a western country and the person in question was associated in planning this violence and editing a document that mentioned some dubious islamic org known to create violence and separatism.

Yeah, we all know what would happen.

It is incorrect I think. At least not her family is christian..May be other girl is Jacob and thats why this confusion.

No , Her father’s name is Ravi Joseph, a lot of people get into Mount Carmel, a Christian college in Bengaluru based on their Christian religion.

Immaterial, in this case. There are enough Hindus on the left side who hate Hindus/India more than cryptos.

Thats how fake news work in SM.

Material or not, is it even true that her dad's name is Ravi Joseph?

It seems like his name is Ravi Annappa.  And she is Disha Annappa Ravi.  Maybe immaterial to the overall argument you are making, but she is getting a great deal of flak just for being suspected of being Christian.

She is an activist with zero credibility, but that doesn't mean people should spread lies about her just to fan religious flames.

As for Mount Carmel being a Christian College, allow me to provide context.  I went to St. Joseph's College - a Jesuit institution.  The principal was a padre.  Other than that, there was zero Christian influence.  No preaching.  No trying to spread the gospel.  All Catholic students were required to for mass once a week.  The rest of us were not told a word about Christianity ever (either that or my raging teenage hormones had me paying attention to more interesting distractions).  80% of the faculty had Hindu names.  There were a few Christians and one or two Muslim lecturers.  Several lecturers I know were practicing Brahmins.  The student population was diverse (mostly Hindu, rest Christian and Muslim).  I suspect Mount Carmel was the same.  Again, I don't know how things have changed in the last 30 years.

People share either something they find something profound enough that affects them (fake or not) or something that amuses them. That applies to everything in life including whatsapp

Just a irritant digression to the main issue of a "climate" activist hobnobbing with banned outfits to create anarchy. Some non-issue for the left to claim the victim card. She is held to get some names out of her. That's all. Why can't they advise her to name names and get out of jail.

TNM is a left-oriented portal like scroll/wire. Dhanya Rajendran is a known anti-Hindu/RW/BJP activist running the portal. It could be Annappa or Joesph or Mohammed or Singh, who TF cares.

I never said anything about they are influencing students. Why do you go off on a tangent? I said it is a Christian run college and they have preference or reservations for Christian students. It is a fact, they are Govt aided colleges and schools and they have reservations for well to do christians.  Read about Stephen's College in Delhi.

BTW, my experience was different from yours. I have studied all schooling in St. Joseph's in b'lore, Hassan and Dharwad. In schools, the padres would encourage kids to come to church and participate in Choir. I have sung in many masses. So, it is not all hunk dory secular. In Hassan, the padre taught me play ping-pong, would spend 2-3 hrs in the evening (6 or 7 of us) would pass on some comments about caste system, idol worship etc. May be in your experience in College, it is different.

The word activist is such a loosely  used title these days. Someone like Anna Hazare or even Medha Patkar (agree with her or not) are activists as they have dedicated their lives to what they believe in. It’s a title you have to earn.

Its like saying every cricketer is an ATG.

I think there is a big difference between school and college.  People who studied in convent schools have had similar experiences to yours.  Not so much in college.

BTW, the reason for that whole paragraph was that people (and I thought, you included) were using the fact that she attended MCC to insinuate she was anti-Hindu and thus trying to destabilize the nation.

As for naming names, think about it, c_r.  If she is dealing with influential people, she is probably shyte-scared right now as to what would happen to her if she reveals names and is let go.  In the end, she is a young woman trying to find her way, who may have bitten off more than she can chew.

It shouldn't matter whether her name is Disha Joseph or Disha Ravi. But for many people in SM, this is a way to validate their biases. They want to feel victimised by claiming a christian/syrian conspiracy to malign India etc. SMs are shyte show, where anybody and everybody has some persecutory complex and conspiracy theories and looking for confirmation biases to prove their agenda.

Do you really belive what you saying.  See the hate and wanting her to suffer just cos left wing.  You may hate left wing people but does that mean you want them bullied by authorities and arrested and locked up?  You can support anyone.  But that does not mean you back every thing they do to your last breath?

I actually dont think you mean it and like others just act tough on internet.  In reality am sure many have sympathy for whats happening to her but wont admit it.

Come clean on what?  That she backed farmers protest and does not like india policies and modi.  Nothing illegal in that.  Just what is termed free speech!

Yes she is nobody. Butd don’t say that Greta speaks to “nobody” for free over internet does what that person says. So as i said, its lefties who are asking her to keep mum because goI will whoop their arses.

PS: Seriously, supporting and sympathising with terrorists with verbal acrobats shouldn’t even be classified as left.

You are expecting way too much from these types, some of them will trample new born babies just to go & fall at the feet of Modi.

I was sympathetic to you for your recent loss. But you are gradeA classless troll. you deserve no attention. You shall be on ignored list. Keep trolling a'hole! G'bye.

I will have sympathy for her once she is released.

In the meantime, I want her to reveal all the names of the participants and what was the nature of that conf call. We have so many enemies guys, as many if not more internal as external.

If she learns her lesson that she can be environmental activist and be apolitical, my sympathies and support will be with her. A 21 YO girl in politics doesnt have my sympathies. Least compared to dozens of girls who lost lives because of LJ type (any not specific) of crimes , rape victims and so on.

For me country first and no selective support or criticism or shamming.

Her working on the tool kit is not the biggest concern but it was chilling the way she was attributing honor killings etc to Modi govt.

She must be really brainwashed to think India or rural India was this happy utopia and Modi govt has brought all these social evils. You can’t un do this.

I saw a documentary about young suicide bombers who were rescued by the US army from Taliban but once they were left alone 2/3 resorted back to terrorism. These so called urban Naxals are no different.

It is too much bcoz that's how sad I feel for the farmers whose deaths are treated like as if nothing happened.....compassion has to be there, haven't I posted on the Rinku Sharma topic after his death? I'm not a cold & heartless person like some of the posters here, I just conveyed what I felt about them....nothing in literal sense.

Aww..such compassion..melted my heart... unfortunately hypocrisy and compassion don't go together.

So yeah let me just laugh at those crocodile tears..
