Both cant get in overseas purely as batsman but as value added players they can Fair enough, but he has to bowl to warrant a place in those places - like Dhoni did with his other facets. I see him as a direct successor to Dhoni's school of batting - perhaps with a slightly better range(?) - and much like Dhoni, while he can grind it out for a while, his game simply is more vulnerable against balls that don't spin. I'm a big fan nonetheless, and would be happy if he shows that as a batsman alone, he is good enough to play Tests everywhere! Link to post

Below could become a rough template in the mid term: #1-3: X (Mayank, Rohit, ...), Gill & Pujara #4-5: Kohli & Y (Sundar, KL, Vihari, Rahane, ...) #6 Reserved for batting AR: SDP #7 WK AR: Pant #8 Reserved for bowling AR: Jadeja/Ashwin #9 to 11 specialist bowlers per conditions: 3 pacers or 2 pacers + 1 spinner (Ashwin/Jadeja - if two spinners are needed) Link to post
