Will SDP (Hardik) get to play tests soon?

SDP is a smart cricketer, who manages his work load well but the team needs the greatest Ind talent of this century to play even purely as a batsman. In Ind, he can avg 70+ with the bat :dontknow:

Come on Ind, get the beast in

PS already avgs 60+ w/ the bat in home like conditions

Love pandya. What's his first class stats? Doesn't he only average 30 odd with the bat and ball?

I don't mind tbh. Give him a shot.

Ind's first class stats are overrated (a waste of time most of the time esp. if you look at the composition of many Ranji sides). Usually, only to be considered if a player's potential has not been identified and he has also not been fast tracked

True. I agree for Sena conditions we need to pick players based in skillset. Ofcourse we need home bullies for asin conditions.

Won't mind seeing SDP at #5, even playing as a pure batsman. Imagine what him and Pant will do to English spinners

Pandya will be great if he is batting for declaration but at 86-3, do you think he could have had that 160 run partnership with rohit? Rahane don't make big runs but he has the clutch factor. If Pandya plays, Pant should bat above him at #5

not how it works. Good players distinguish themselves regardless of how weak/tough domestic competition is. Rohit Sharma the biggest HTB in this era was averaging nearly 60 in Ranjis when he debuted. Fawad Alam averages around 55 in Pakistani domestics. If Pandya has capacity to be 70 averaging HTB, we would have seen the signs for it Ranjis and A games.

So far, he has batting avg of 30 in FC and 31 in tests, so the FC career predicted his capacity with the bat accurately
