Test Matches Head to Head ( 2001 -2021 ) : England is the only team to have a better H2H record against India ( 16W, 14L)

After this likely victory by India, England would still be ahead with 16W, 15L.

Need to set this record straight starting from the summer in England this year.

Other than England, overall - we have stuffed every team, including Australia - thanks to our back to back wins in their own soil.

That's cause they played 4 home series. We only played 3 including this one.

In terms of the number of matches - 21 have been played at home and away, so no excuses for having an inferior W/L record - because the number home/away matching are even.

ITS THE 2012 LOSS that hurt us. al the old geriatric, past prime, useless sooperstars wanted a last hurrah send off. cost us.

Oh I thought he meant just post 2010. Sorry.

In the two series in 2011 and 2012 the record reads Eng 6 Ind 1. We had a out of form batting line up barring Dravid and Pujara. Zaheer went missing after the first session in the Eng series and most importantly Eng had a great side at their prime with all facets covered. Cook, Strauss, Trott, Pietersen, Bell, Prior is a formidable batting line up. Add to that Anderson, Broad as two frontline pacers with Finn, Bresnan and Tremlett as good back ups and Swann and Panesar in the spin department.

They way Anderson is still getting it to swing late, India is going to be 2 down every innings in first 5 overs.

Cant see India scoring 250 plus per innings in England against Anderson, Broad, Stokes and Archer plus Curran.

Indian bowlers and later order batting will need bring their A+ game every match.

Or else England winning series easy.

Well here's the thing, Eng's won 10 tosses more & won just 1 more game! I'm of course assuming we win this one -

Primary team India
Opposition team England
Start of match date greater than or equal to 1 Jan 2000
Toss result lost the toss

Lost 26/42 tosses....huge huge factor. Also we weren't ruthless enough esp at home in the 2000s when they were at their weakest.

I think we can score 250+ consistently over there if we manage to kick out geriatric & finished versions of players.

Rohit

Sundar (left right opening combo)

Gill

Lolli

Vihari/Rahane

Pant

Jaddu

Ashwin

Shardul/Shami

Siraj

Bumrah

We can set the record straight if we play a XI that will perform..  I don't  see big tons coming but I'll take each & every contribution to somehow score 275+ runs throughout.

Rohit in England :hysterical: good luck, a decade of international cricket and he still cant play swing, rather go in with Shaw/Rahul/Mayank to infuse new blood and give them opportunities

I know I myself not a big fan but atm he is the best option..  He has proved everyone wrong including me.  I'll take 20-30 runs from him there .  Shaw should be with India A in case required.

Rohit is a short term fix but if it helps us in Eng & SA this year then so be it.

Among the 20 potential maharathis touring Eng, who do you see outscoring him on current form? Don't say Brat because he won't!

He has been given a rope of 10 years but still cant play swing or seam movement. BCCI and various lobbies tried to fit him in every position from 1 to 6, hide him from new ball, therefore the least someone deserves is 1 yeat shot at Test opener..,besides Rohit is fat and unfit and probably wont last another year of international cricket.

5 Tests in England, start of new WTC cycle, time to give others opportunity for 1-2 years if not 10 years!, one or two of these guys Rahul / Mayank / Shaw / Padikkal / Panchal / Easwaran / Sundar deserves 2-3 series as opener with full backing

Come on man 20-30 runs!!!

That's not the role.of opener, opener's prime requirement especially in places like Eng / SA / NZ is to see out first 20 overs.

And England series is start of new WTC, therefore only right for next line of guys given backing for at least 1 - 2 years, not asking for 10 years of backing given to Rohit since his debut.

By the time India play SA, I hope to see new faces at 1,2,3 (Gill) and 5 (Vihari).
